Thread: While we wait for revamp, they break smuggler

Like it's already been mentioned.......

Looks like we've all found some more justification for charging higher prices for slices.

Yeah it's gonna be a pain in the butt. But in all honesty, keeping 20 inventory slots when you're backpack is equipped shouldnt really be that difficult. And what...it's gonna take 7 minutes to slice a suit of armor instead of 5?

I understand that we're definitely taking a step backwards here, but let's see what the reasons behind this are before we continue our collective knee-jerk reaction.

In the meantime....it's 10K per slice.

I think the patch is a bit borked ATM? No-one got their paintings, either.

No doubt it will all get fixed again in patch 12 though!

When i was scrolling through the changes and saw that Profession: Smuggler was on the list, i thought maybe they would add descriptions into our skill boxes, or fix the PLK crate problem, but no. It said that we have to pull each item out of a crate individually. I suddenly felt the need to sodomize something but, fortunately, my cats were at the vet.

Yup, I didn't have to unpack anything either. They did put out a hotfix yesterday evening. Maybe they reverted tot he old way.

You devs are complete and total morons, that being said. This is the straw that broke the camels back, you don't have time for our revamp or to fix broken specials. But you have time to jack with the coding of peoples inventory to fix and issue that was never a problem.

This is sooo stupid. SERIOUSLY what were the devs thinking? Are they a bunch of retarded apes? This just pisses me off.

While I agree that the wording of this 'fix' sounds bad, it seems to have little effect. In slicing mission terminals, my clamps were autopulled without issue. Because of the longstanding issues with autopulling knives, I've just gotten in the habit of keeping the crate in my backpack and having one knife in my inventory.

If the dev that typed the update notes did the description for the master smuggler box, I think we'd have a lot more to complain about.

Well if they have removed the tweak im going to look pretty silly having just sent this to greenmarine...

I would like to express my concerns with the latest treatment of the smuggler player base. I refer of course to the minor change made with slicing in publish 9, regarding the need to remove slicing tools from a crate in order to slice an item. As a team the Developers have just effectively killed what little was left in the way of smuggler content. When slicing for another player it is often unlikely we will be slicing a single item at a time. Usually we will receive multiple, FULL sets of composite armour and several weapons. So now the development team feel that it is a key priority to fix a non issue and make commercial slicing totally non viable for us. Can we seriously be expected to slice 18 pieces of armour, while not only holding the armour but also 18 molecular clamps, 18 armour upgrade kits and an assorted collection of laser knives? An old adage springs to mind..."If It aint broke, Dont fix it!" There are far more pressing concerns with the structure of the game, to make a point of going out of the way to once again address a non issue, as opposed to address our real needs Once again this seems a case of one step forward and two steps back. As a community of players we smugglers have provided more than enough information on how the SOE development team could improve our profession and make it more enjoyable, in all honesty I do not think I have ever seen a post listing this as a critical fix needed to make the game more enjoyable.

On behalf of my fellow smugglers I petition that this minor "tweak" be removed.

I address my concerns to yourself with all respect as you are one of the few developers who have actually earned our faith that someone really is passionate on the dev team about making the smuggler a viable profession to play within the game.

Oh well
