For the record, I don't think anything gambling has to be related to smugglers... yes, we have our hands in all kinds of illegal activities, but ya know what? Gambling isn't illegal in Star Wars.
Oh, and the two names for the game played using the board in question are "holochess" or "dejarik".

Listen, there is a lot of new loot. There's paintings, stims that enhance skills (including +10 to pistol speed for 5 mins!), new loot kit like contraptions, and 6 or 7 schematics that i've heard of. The schematics were littered between artisan, architect, and one dropped in underworld. This is not a rehash of the Jawas, they aren't going out of their way to appease smugglers with "content" its just something they're added broadly in game. If you don't want to craft them then don't, its just that simple, but its really, really not one of the things we should be complaining about.

Its not rediculous to get a gaming table.
It is rediculous to have Smugglers craft furniture.

Oh I understand. I mean it IS a sorta kick to the teeth. We want a profession, not a gaming table. But we all know that the profession is coming, and we should be gearing up towards that fight, and looking there, not losing hope over something so silly. I'm in the CU guys, and all I can say is, the table looks pretty open for good or ill where I'm sitting from the CU alone. It's a coin flip if we'll work or not.
On a lighter note I know I've been away from here for a bit. I've had little to think about along these lines, and other pursuits both on these boards and off. But I cannot express to all of you how delighted I was to see new conversations and ideas springing up. I honestly didn't think there were any left. Our profession is an amazing collection of people and no matter how ugly we might get when the chips are down against us, I know it's because we are all passionate and intelligent people.
Well, except for Maloso...he's a numb nut

First of all... we arent smugglers. Never have been. We *can* be by choice of activities, but we've got a little of Lando, a bit of Talon, some Han, and more than just a couple of chunks from nearly every low-life scum to ever grace the content of a LFL-ok product. Dont limit yourselves folks, open your minds to the schemes and scams that are our smuggling fore-fathers.
Frankly, in a galaxy of Han-abees, I'll take a little Lando. And thats just what this is. Now, I wouldnt put it past *any* smuggler to try and make the best of what they get comming to them, Han setting up a 3D holo theater for low-tech natives because he's stuck and needs to make up for a loss, for example (read your Han Solo books). But this? This isthe fine touch of our slick smilin', Colt 45 slinging, Lando "Lady's Man"Calrisian.
Scoundrel, Gambler, Businessman, Casino Hall Purveyor... Mmmm Hmmm.
Stand back folks, the revamp is comming and your smuggling-content will be waiting at the end of the road... but for now, I think I'll just slip into my smoothest outfit and open ladies night at my converted Sorosub "Ca-see-no".

Well,..at least its a gaming table. I don't mind crafting them (for starters my YT needs its table back!). Now..if they made a SABACC table...oh yell yeah I'd be all over that. And I would be one broke human but thats beside the point.

I view it as a perk of being a smuggler. No one else in the game can get one of those tables EXCEPT through the hands of a smuggler. Why are you guys so angry about some content?
I don't care if it is food, clothes, furniture, weapons, or ship components. If smugglers are the only ones who can make it, and it is a cool thing that adds tremendous roleplay and decoration potential for a smuggler's ship or home, I don't give a womp rats ass if I'm the only one in the galaxy that knows how to make a piece of furniture.
You must also keep in mind that smuggler isn't going to be revamped for awhile, and as MISTangent01 points out, this could be the precursor to player casinos, a playable version of "holochess", and possibly sabaac.
Relax and enjoy it
