As for losing the battle of the crackdown, San was right. This patch in no way effected smugglers on a noticable scale. Do people group just because I'm a smuggler? No... do people ask me todeliver their spices? No... do people still ask for slices and buy spices at the normal prices? Yes... It seems as though people wanted this to be more than the Devs told us it was going to be, and got overexcited for nothing.

All I can say is since the last time I checked this place (right before the crackdown), it's gone to **edit**.

/sigh

It's surprising that even though the issue was debated over and over for a month and even stated more than a few times in this very thread that you and a few others still don't get that our issue was NOT WITH THE CRACKDOWN!

Noone expected this publish to be the savior of smugglers. Our issue was with the Imperial lack of penalties and how it would affect our revamp. Not whether or not this crackdown would be the end for us.

Seriosuly dude, go through the constant debates and you will see that none even bothered with what thsi crackdown would spell for us. Yes, there were some who were worried that the crackdown would be the end of spice and slicing sales but, other than that noone even cared about the crackdown as it stood.

The mostconfounding thing of all is when people say that this forum has gone to hell. Why do people even say that? All the debates have been healthy ones with all sides voicing their opinions in a clear, concise and constructive manner. The only malicious intent that i've seen in this forum has come from our very correspondent such as going on a childish tantrum and unsticking some really important threads such as the 'Guide To Selling Faction Points' and the immature name-calling in this very thread. Hell, he's even insulted the members who actually supported his point of view.

After all the dust settled and San said that he was resigning his post due to real life issues we all supported him and wished him well. Now for this same person to come back and call us such names is totally disrespectful.

Seriously San, I wish you all the best in RL but you attitude here has been the worst i've seen on this forums.

I agree with this statement. And the blame will continue, untill the red names will post on our boards a little more than "LOL". It is all about communication. Silliest questions from other professions are being answered by Devs with lengthy explanations. Our simpliest several months old questions are being completely ignored. All we get is never-ending promises for a revamp. The moment Devs will start comunication some information to us (through TH or correspondent) the blaming will most likely stop and the community will start thinking again.
Anyhow, that's my view on this pointless bickering.

I think it's fairly obvious that the development team hasn't even started discussing the smuggler revamp in anything but the most general terms. Nobody in any official capacity is going to make any comments this early because they don't want to have to take back what will be perceived as promises by the public (us). I wouldn't expect to see any official comments until just after the next publish goes live at the very earliest.

The future has nothing to do with the imp crack down the sooner you guys start to realize that the sooner you might just wake up and see the game for what it is and not your fantasies.

And every other post you made San, I'm proud to say that I still support you 100%. I don't even want to think about what is was like having to deal with these guys during the Crackdown pre-publish. I just couldn't understand why the hell they went so crazy over a patch that wasn't even intended for smuggling. When I heard about the patch I jumped up and down with glee, thinking, "Finally, Smugglers will smuggle!." I then jumped on TC andjust about lost my lunch. Had this trio even jumped into the into TC and taken a look around they would have calmed down quite a bit faster.

You've still got my respect.

Go ahead, flame me suckers.

OMG! This can't be the same SanTsu!

How the hell can you be so malicious to all these guys?

And how is it that you STILL don't get what everyone was arguing so vehemently against?!?

From the inception of these arguments, the main concern was NOT with the crackdown - anyone who followed the TC tests of the things could tell you that it was a sham as nothing was really happening. The problem that people had was not with the crackdown but with the rpecedent that the Imperial penalties (or lack of) set. As the new correspondent said, the devs are reulctant to change things now... which was something that we all said would happen. There is no way that they will go against the majority (ie. the Imperials) and support the minority (ie. the smugglers).

From the time that these arguments started, you kept putting all our opinons down. RIGHT from the start! Saying that they were fantasies:

1) You kept saying this is not a smugglers patch; wait for the revamp or *sudder* the space expanision. Guess what, NOONE expected this to be the smuggler's patch. NOT nomad, NOT dreven, NOT Caylin, NOT me, NOT anyone. The crackdown had it's own purpose and we got a *totally meaningless* perk. We wanted more yes, but with the time constraints, we knew we couldn't get more.

2) You kept calling our concerns fantasies but said that you passed them on to the devs. Now we hear that you pur down our concerns there are well! WTH?!? You were our voice to the devs and you let us down.

3) You kept saying that this forum turned from a nice place to a bunch of whiners beating down everyone else's opinons. Excuse me but where did you see any whining or beating down? Caylin, nomad, dreven, JTGAlpha, Solo and even myself to some extent all posted our opinons in a detailed, clear-cut and constructive manner. Nowhere did we dismiss other people's opinions. Infact, all our replies were geared towards showing them why we were concerned and a lot atleast acknowledged that even though they may have disagreed. A lot of smugglers came out of the woodwork just to support our opinons. These are the guys who are Masters in the game but don't perus through the forums and they STILL came to support us. Whether our concerns were valid or not, they were still concerns and should have been treated with respect but our correspondent.

The people I feel saddest for were those that placed their utmost faith in you. Those that posted saying that you were doing a great job and trusted you to represent them properly. Well San, we know you did something but not very much. Even now you fail to even acknowledge what our concerns were.

On these forums there were a few people that I respected more than the rest. When thsi whole issue started, I lost a lot of respect for you when you started attacking other people and then threw that tantrum where you unstickied some really important posts. Now however... yeesh.

I'm just glad you're gone and wish you luck in all your RL stuff

Tell me of all the dire
consequences that were predicted by the pony crew how many of them came true. Ill tell you none"

Dude. Don't go there. Please. I got so much artillery from the correspondents board, it ain't even funny. Not only did you not represent the community at LARGE, but you didn't fairly express a concern from several members (read: more than four) of the community, many of which were well respected (caylin, Kav, EN, Solo, Rouge) You basically said, "Yeah, I don't know what they're bitchin' about but could you cool'em out? yeah, that'd be greeeat." But I don't wanna get into this with you. The Crackdown hit. You're out. All in the past.

But that statement up there. You see that? THat's why you failed. That's what I was afraid of. You NEVER understood it. You didn't want to. You never will. NOTHING we predicted was predicted to happen until AFTER the Revamp, San. Like we said, this is likely the basis. And what gets built on it will always have those two secret doors through it, bypassing all the gates and doors and locks, by either being an Imperial or buying droids. But it doesn't matter. I'm not debating this with you any more.

A few thoughts:

1.) Some of what happened may be San, some of it may be a result of him feeling worn out after banging his head against a brick wall. We just don't know, and personally, I didn't get access to the correspondent's forum to look. I DO think that one thing this makes clear is that SOE should open the correspondent's forum for VIEWING, but only for POSTING for correspondents and devs. This process needs to be FAR more transparent than it has been since it was implemented. The "Behind Closed Doors" approach to this only breeds more problems when a community is in an uproar.

Solo, I completely agree with you here. If nothing else it would allow us to see how little influence the correspondents have over the development process. However, it will also ensure that the correspondents are representing the views of the people.

Hell the patch is out Im not hearing about how the imps are stealing all you smuggler business.

Why is that oh becuase there is no smuggler business. There never was going to be any smuggler business
in this patch.

A bunch of children got there panties in a wad becuase there self imposed hopes were dashed.
Well tough go cry to your mothers becuase no one cares.

Now that Im not stuck with the position anymore I can tell you 19 spoiled nimerodes where you can stick it.

If you ever have the urge please come to lowca where i can kick your virtual ass's.

You never did get it. It seems you never will.

We were complaining that when something was finally declared "illegal" in the game, imperials were given the ability to break the law at will.

Anyway, in a previous post I stated that I was "sorry to see you go". After reading your statements here, I wish retract that statement.

Hehe this is funny. Soap Opera Drama on the Smuggler Forums.

Congratulations to side A for making someone want to quit their job.

Congradulations to side B for giving side A more ammo.

I've seen 6 year old work out their differences better than this.
