I think this is a great idea, and if any Starsider smugglers want to do something like this, get a hold of me. I'm just 275k pistol xp from Master and I will get that tonight.
As far as the terminoligy goes, I don't think "union" is a bad term at all. Maybe some people think of grocery baggers unions or bricklayers union, but the first thing that pops in my head is Jimmy Hoffa, lord of all crime and union mastermind.
And for those that think smugglers should be solo all the time and care only about themselves, that's OK too, but I think the idea of a smuggler Mafia or Yakuza is much more appealing. "It's all about the Family" after all.

heya all, im a smuggler on gorath, as my sig tells, and i want to make a chat channel on there, so if your a smuggler on gorath, send an in-game e-mail to Doltan, and if i get enough, ill open up a chat channel... maybe name it the underworld
