Dirty Fighting:

  • No unarmed moves even though one of our prerequisites is Unarmed 4.

    • Solutions:

      • Add unarmed moves to our skill tree

Hey Caylin eveything looks great just one thing. I feel that rather then adding unarmed moves we should be able to simply use the specials we have now with any and all weapon types. For example Low Blow could be used as unarmed or with a blaster or carb, etc.......

This looks great. I have to agree with DOC on the rearranging of the terminals and containers in the slicing tree, having just gotten slicing 2 myself. The only thing I see missing are two things

1) Ability to slice all types of mission terminals (artisan, explorer, entertainer).

2) Make note that Droids should not be used to circumvent the contraband scan (unless sliced by a smuggler

Why does everyone want decreased popularity of sliced weapons, one of our biggest revenue streams?

This won't in any way decrease the amount of sliced weapons. They will always be a "hot" item. (no pun intended) All this will do is cause the value to be higher which means higher prices. And it adds alot of flavor.

Well I was actually replying to a post where the poster specifically stated he wanted to see sliced weapons less popular...

That being said I'm going to have to disagree again. The proposed changes of stiffer crackdowns only penalizes the owner of sliced weapons and not the slicer. The only possible outcome is a decreased popularity in sliced weapons and therefor less demand for our services. If it were the slicer facing stiffer penalties (as they probably should), prices would increase as it would be harder to obtain sliced weapons. The proposed changes, however, do not make it any harder to obtain sliced weapons but rather penalize you for using them.

Same goes for the prohibition analogy. Alcohol was expensive because of the risks involved in selling it.

I DO think we need to increase the risk in slicing -- but not the risk in owning a sliced weapon.

I feel you are all right. The crack down needs to be tuffer but the slicer should also have a penalty. Use a rotating scanner system, have the empire scan a different city a week, making it almost imposible to exit that city at that time, next the more a smuggler slices the better chance he has at ending up on the BH boards. Both add a ton of content for all players.

Just a thought, but why not switch Slice I to Locked Containers, and Terminals you can start doing at novice? It would alleviate the insane prices that containers of junk are going for, and it would help smugglers in slicing in that going from novice to slicing I they have a means of slicing without either selling their children into slavery in order to get the one and only thing that they can currently slice.

I completely agree that Locked Containers and Terminals should be switched. It just makes more sense and will greatly reduce the insane amounts that locked containers are going for.

Otherwise, great list Caylin

Sounds like the outcry from non-jedi may spark a delay in pub 10 and add atleast a few simple goodies for most/all classes...
If you notice they have been pretty quiet for the most part i.e. Droid Revamp...I think most proffessions can look for something nice in the next publish or mini's

I'd love to see some additional stuff put in for non-Jedi in the mini-Pubs, but I'd rather they go ahead and get Publish 10 and the new method of becoming a Jedi out as soon as possible. That way it won't be hanging over their heads (with everyone who was working on being a Jedi but didn't make it, or who wanted to work on being a Jedi once the new method is in place complaining) and they can, finally, really focus their attention on everything else.

I really like these ideas but I fear they won't go over well with most players judging by previous reactions to being forced into -any- situation in SWG.

PS - I do agree that penalties for the crackdown should be stiffer. I mean, really, who cares about 500cr. I just think the motivation should be to add an element of risk to the game, as risk translates into fun.

1) You *can* slice all types of mission terminals. It's just that on Art, Expl, and Ent terms, the mission payouts don't improve. You still get XP though.

Thanks for doing this Caylin. If I were you, I'd save this file somewhere - that way in 2 months when they ask for it again, you can just send it to them directly.

We seem to be in the "busy work" phase of things; soon will come the "cranky" phase, where we all gripe to the high heavens because we don't see any progress and feel ignored, which will pass into the "placate" phase where someone with a red namecomes into the forums and tells us that Greenmarine is working on our revamp. Then we get into the "excitement" phase, where we talk amongst ourselves about how cool our revamp will be and all the new things we'll get. Which then, to help with the revamp we are asked to produce a list of issues, thereby signifying the entering of the "busy work" phase....
