Thread: Your 3 Wishes for Smuggler

These certainly aren't in order of Preference... I want each as much as the other 2...
1. Wish I could smuggle (I know you said not to say it... but it needs to be said regardless)
2. Wish I could be hunted for failing to smuggle
3. Wish I could use my skills to evade the bloke hunting me for failing to smuggle.
All of the smugglers skills should reflect and enhance a smugglers ability to do 1 and 2.
Slicing: Take ones name off the BH terminal, slice the travel terminal for a cheap or fast escape, slice the mission terminal for emergency cash, slice your weapons to give you that extra edge when all else fails.. slicing isn't a marketing tool, its a survival trait for those on the run.
Underworld: Find and haggle with prospective NPC or PC customers, evade customs, call on contacts for those favors they owe you when you need someone to save your hide.
Spice: Used to bribe corrupt addicted officials.
Diry Fighting: When all else fails

wow.. i ike the gun idea...
1. a smuggler only pistol.. made only by a master smuggler, no-tradable, special ability with it upon creation. something ike KD, dizzy, bleed, stun... but a random ability so you get the impression of no two being alike. that would be cool.. we could sit around a cantina (non-Imp of course) and brag about whose is better lol
2. Make something like the airport metal detectors at each star port ... need a smuggler to get some items past security... that would make our profession a bit more realistic.
there is no three... i think these two would make it a lot more fun to be a smuggler. The Idea that there is no actual smuggling... seems like we could go ahead and call ourselves wizards.. i mean we have no magic...

Kinda cool idea, something I've always kinda wished they'd have had, not just for smuggler (which I'd like) but for a lot of classes. Almost like some of the epics of EQ. Combat medics, for example, being able to hand craft a grenade launcher type weapon to explain why they have to pause for 4 seconds and get ranges out to 64m with an area effect poison or heal.
1: Would be cool for a smuggler to be able to have their own craftable weapon by master, that is theirs only. Not droppable, tradeable, or likewise. By this time, a smuggler has enough knowledge from upgrading so many various types of weapons for folks in all trades, from vibro blades to sniper rifles to flame throwers, why not their own tricked out hold out blaster, or dagger, or whatever they want to have one of?
2: Being able to chose damage or speed, or encumberance or base protection when upgrading armor/weapons. I mean, seriously, by "Master," you are at the peak of your skill. At this point it is impossible to know any more about your own equipment or the weapons/armor you're working on, at so you should know whether the node, diode, capicitor, etc, etc you're tapping into controls speed, damage, or whatever relative trait to the equipment you're working on.
3: Why not something for JTL... Give master smugglers a unique set of abilities they can use once they achieve certain skill levels with their respective starcraft. I mean, what good is stealing that crate of spice, I mean, err, requisitioning those pharmacuticals, if you can't get them to where they need to be....
Dunno, just some thoughts from left field. And some that have been desired for a long, long time, in a galaxy not so far away.
1. A sidekick/thug, a la Chewbacca. These can be pretty much any race, and you can treat them like a pet. Much like the faction soldiers but with a few extra options. Maybe you can order them to "intimidate" NPC's into giving you info or protection money, or whatever. And then in JTL, they could provide you some extra help, acting almost like an astromech or computer, helping repair the ship, or manning one of the turrets. I'd say we get limited to maybe one or two of these, because a crowd just wouldn't be good for sneaking stuff around.
2. Being able to pick slices. The result can still be random, but I figure that messing with a different part of the weapon is going to have a different effect on the weapon's performance. What I mean is, as many slices as a master smuggler has done, he's going to know what parts of the weapon do what. You're not going to mess with the power coupling to make the weapon faster, and conversely, you aren't going to fiddle with the senstivity of the trigger to make the weapon do more damage. You can do that on handguns now (put a lighter trigger in it, so you can shoot faster), why wouldn't an experience slicer be able to figure out how to do that in the SW universe? It may not always work out the way you plan, but you should at least know what you're messing with.
3. I like the idea that somebody previously brought up of not necessarily making spice, but going somewhere to pick it up, then smuggling it to wherever you want to distribute it. I think this adds more of a criminal element to it, rather than just making us Artisan lite. Although being able to experiment with spices would be nice, if we couldn't get that. Do things to decrease the downer effects, or tweak the stat increases that they give. Maybe you could create one that gave you a bigger boost, but for less time, or one that lasted longer, but wasn't quite as strong.
1. Smuggler specific weapons, a gun or two and brass knuckles. A couple unarmed specials wouldn't hurt either.
2. Let me pick the type of slice please. You can leave the percentage random, I just want to give people what they want.
3. Longer spice duration. Drugs don't clear out of your system in 6 minutes... Let spices compete with the longer chef foods on duration. (40-45 minutes) This could be done by via experimentation.
4. Ability to purchase more faction at a time. 1000 at a time still wouldn't let you reach the higher faction levels, so I don't see a problem there.

I just have one wish at the moment...
1. That the powerup exploit gets fixed...
Oh yeah add that to mine too!
