Yeah, the dude broke the naming policy and paid the price. That's a non issue. What I was refering to with you all having a stick up your ass, is treating the guy like **edit** just because he chose a name related to **edit**. So he has a tactless sense of humor. Does that make him any less of a person and negate his right to be treated like a person? I personally find the egotism of that more disgusting then poop jokes. Treat people like you want to be treated. From this thread I gather most of you want to be treated like worthless annoyances.
Well "Hebrew", no you should NOT have your name forcibly changed and lose access to everything you own.
Why, you ask? Because your bad name change falls underrule number3 (3. Names of religious, occult, or significant historic origin (e.g. Jesus, Allah, Satan, Stalin, Angel, Devil, Demon)) and only names under number 1 and 2 are forcibly changed without warning.
Should you be forced to change it? Yes, because it still violates the naming policy of SWG.
And we're not really treating anyone badly here. We're just stating the facts: Break the rules- Pay the price

Might as well ban: Peter, James, John, Jacob, Matthew, David, Samuel, etc... pretty much any name which isn't some random conglomeration of letters as 90% of all names have some sort of religious or historical background...

Peter, James, John and the others aren't considered "religious" ... Words like Jew, Hebrew, Christian and Satanist are. You know that aswell as I do.
It's just plain facts, live with it.

Also, all the names I listed are iconic figures of the Bible. They ARE religious even though they are commonly used names. Using your "logic" they should all be banned.

That name beats the hell out of unoriginal names, names like "Raven XXXXX", "StormCloud", and all the other generic names out there. I'm not surprised you got caught, though.With all the whinners in the world. You shoulda tried "Turdburgler Fartenknocker".

Raanan has a good point, people dont need to act like Star Wars Nazi's cause it is not a star wars name. Ive been a hugh SW fan since age 6 and Im one of the people who sat in the theater open night of a new hope. You dont have to be so mean to the kid cause he likes poop jokes and while is namemight not be to your liking he does not need to be treated like a turd. He messed up he paid the price he will learn from his mistake, but it still sucks to have all your stuff wiped out, again even if you were wrong in to first place. People really need to lighten up, dont turn into a "trekkie" over SWG. This comes from an in-game RP, a silly, stupid or whatever namewont spoil my fun,light up people. With all that said, one star away.....

Ok, I take it back, I said earlier it was wrong with how SOE handled this, nope, they followed the rules as set forth that all players agreed to before they started playing. I hate stupid names, I hate silly names, I hate offensive names, I hate lowbrow names and I hate copycat names. Regardless of all that, if any names that fall into those slots are allowed by set rules, fine, if not I feel no sympathy at all for the violators. For those who have stated that many of us have a stick up our collective kesters, well.. deal with it! We want a cleaner, less silly, more SW like game than you do, chew on that! I may be speaking like I'm on a high horse, but damn I love the view from up here!! HA! Kudo's to all those who spoke out against the person that started this thread. Dude, it's like complaining to the masses about getting fined for profanity in public and saying the law is being mean. Sorry to say it but, you opened yer mouth, now insert that foot.

I'm with the majority here - you took on the SOE TOS and lost. I eventually want my kids to play in game with me. I don't want them exposed to stupid stuff like this. Sucks you can't get into your houses and access your stuff and your reputation is gone. Wish that the process would be a little more friendly in that respect, but you've brought it on yourself.
