Point Taken BadSectorUK. But a 100cr per % slice is to cheap. And you can make a macro for adv. your pirces or buy a mouse droid that does it for you.

Your idea of slicing a Scout Blaster cheaper then a Rocket Launcher is a good idea. Think I will use that. But remember we are dealing with ileagal stuff and need to get paied for it to.

That is way we need to stick togather and don't dump the market.

I use a set of macros for advertising already, the comment about was referring to the potential complexity of such a pricing structure - it would have to be relatively simple or will confuse customers.

It's the basic premise of "K.I.S.S." - people don't want to have to reach for a calculator to work out how much their weapon migth be to slice, as it is I get people asking what the most I could charge is, so they can work out if they need to go on missions beforehand.

Not sure how 100cr per % is too cheap though - if slices are all in the range 10-35% and 10-45% and you charge for everything, you are guaranteed 1k to 3.5/4.5k per item, for a cost of (possibly less than) 370cr.

So that's a guaranteed profit of 170% (1.7x), up to a potential 1116% (11.16x) - again, based on a resource cost of 3cr per unit which is pessimistic.

Maybe if the upgrade kit quality starts to have a bearing on how tight the variance is (e.g. 1000 quality would make a weapon slice 30-35%, while crap quality would keep it at 10-35%), then we would have a better opportunity to distinguish our services, applying a "base + percentage" pricing scheme.

I also use the 100 credits per % increase charging structure. I feel the customer should pay for the quality of the slice, and if I get a bad slice it shouldn't cost them the same amount a 30+% slice should.

I switched to a flat 3K perpieceon armor because 100c/% was too low considering the cost of AUKs are more expensive then WUKs by 2K. and 200 credits per% was getting too expensive to the point where me slicing the armor was costing more then the armor itself.

Flat fee is the way to go. Customers usually would like to know how much something will cost beforehand. My fee ranges from 3k-5k per slice depending on if I feel like slicing or not.

I charge 2k per slice at Master on Chilastra as well, just like Rahzael. I lower that rate on occasion, such as when I get handed a lower end weapon and the player seems like a new player.

I get VERY nervous slicing high end Krayt weapons and have had the lower speed slice performed. I was more upset than the customer though. He seemed to understand it was just bad luck.

Yes we earn money on a 100cr %. But are you consider that you need to stand and wait for ppl to show up or maby run 2000m to meet them. Is that not worth enyting? You cnat only count on how mush it cost you to slice. You need to also include the time it takes you to slice the weapon.Or are you just haning around a starport and do nothing else then slice all day? I do alot off missions to, mostly NPC quests where you get a "blue WP" and those missions take time. Did one today on Yawin IV where you had to run almost 6000m to get to the first WP. If I had to wait for a coustumer to show up to would you think I would do that for free?

was doing the %cr, moved to a flat rate of 2k per item. has worked out ok. I dont advertice my slicing at all, most of my buisness is via word of mouth, or If i feel frisky and put the slicer tag up.

Don't be upset at the results. Let your customer know that the slice results are totally random. Half the time you will get speed, half the time you will get damage. And you percentage will very.

It's a completely random system. The fact that you’re slicing a 100k gun has no bearing on the outcome. Let your customer know what there getting into up front.

I don't run to meet anyone for slices, if they want my services, they come to me.

I hang out in busy, well-travelled areas when I want to offer slicing services - star ports are the best as there is a constant flow of people and so a natural congregation spot.

Like I said before, though, if I need money I slice the mission terminal on Dathomir and do them for up to 37k each - at Master Smuggler you have the specials needed (HS1, Feign Death and Last Ditch) and if you get Novice Pistoleer (HS2) and/or have a pet then it's very easy to walk through missions.

Missions are my bread & butter, slicing is a service I can afford to do in my "leisure time", yet still turn a healthy profit (notice sometimes it goes from noone to slice for, to 7 people sending /tells in the space of 5 seconds? ).

I've not met anyone yet who expects me to travel to them, or be at their beck and call, and I wouldn't do it if asked!

Personally, I wouldn't rely on slicing or selling spices as my main income as it's not a consistent market and (as we've seen here) there is direct competition with other smugglers.

I'm intrigued by the inference that AUKs cost more than WUKs by 2k, and how someone works out it's costing them 500cr per slice though?

If you have (access to) a factory, you can always get a Novice Armorsmith or Weaponsmith to make you a schematic from 20 metal and 10 chemical you hand them, then they can trade you the schematic back - maybe offer a trade of schematics if they want to produce spices?
Or offer a tip - either way your UKs should be costing 90cr each - that's only 2250cr per crate, good for 25 slices... you only need 1 schematic to make 40 crates, good for 1000 slices...

i usually give them a choice: either a 2k flat rate per item OR 100 cr per % and if its 20% or under its free. most of em choose the % and end up paying more though lol. i had to add the 2k flat rate because some master smugglers on chilastra can afford slicing for 1k. thats just insane i could hardly make any money with that. it costs me a bit over 500 creds to slice. im thinking of raising that 2k flat rate to maybe 2.5k at least since im getting lots of tells from pplwho are on different planets now lol btw dont u guys get stressedwhen slicing krayt weaponsor armor lol. i got lucky though with my last 3!29% dmg fwg5, 29% dmg scatter, 31% dmg fwg5. id feel so bad if i sliced a kraytgun for like 20% speed lol.
