The Talus missions are smuggler-only as far as we can tell on TC. I tried and several others tried with non-smuggler characters to get a mission from the guy at the station and there was no option. I tried with my smuggler and got the offer to do a mission. This mission went from Corellia space to Tatooine space to Naboo space before finally finishing. Allthe enemies (the Empire and others trying to steal the goods) were tier 2 andmade the mission pretty straight forward, yet interesting. I haven't had a chance to see if this is a whole string of missions yet.

On a related note, my smuggler (who is also a 2322 Smuggler Alliance pilot) was unable to take the missions from the Tatooine space station.

well, as long as there is an answer that would mean they have heard the message (maybe?). what is making me worrying is the fact that they can as well be not answering at all. like for the rest of our concerns (spce downers, crates, FD...)

I feel as most do that the use of the word Smuggler or the world Smuggling when refering to some Privateer mission or group is a complete insult to Smugglers. I mean, who's the brilliant genious who thought about adding a Privateer group and calling it the Smuggler Alliance and allowing anyone who's a privateer to join it. If there were themissions named "Bounty Hunting Mission" where you got to hunt down a traitorous pilot and kill him for the bounty, or a "Squad Leader Mission" to lead a group of fighters against a target,wouldn't those people be upset too? It IS ALL about wording. Because at this time, that is really all we have.

It seems to me that SOE not only developed the game seperately from SWG and then just meshed it together, but they didn't even consider the effect that JTL would have on the ground game at all. Smugglers are an important and well known part of Star Wars. Along with Jedi and Bounty Hunter, they are the most well know and most desired professions in terms of "Hey I wanna be that when the game comes out". We all want to be Han Solo, Chewbacca or Lando, instead we're just dressed up in Halloween costumes that we paid for, and they let evereyone else rent the costumes.

I'm not Han Solo, or Chewbacca,and I don't live in a YT-1300or eat bofa treats, or own a CDEF Pistol, and I don't know Bib,Oola orMax Rebofrom Jabba's Palace, although I'm certain they're really, really nice.

I have a Smuggler's Alliance, not a faction. I speakcommon and Ryl, not Lekku, and I pronounce it 'nerf herder', not 'nerv hurdler'.

I can proudly sew mySmuggler Iconon my backpack, because the Stormtroopers don't scan anyway. I believe in blasters, not swords and batons. Slicing at master, not total randomness, and thatthe Wookiee is a truly proud and noble animal.

Aknife is for slicing, not fighting, aship part should be sliceable, and it is pronounced 'ooteeni' not 'ohtiny' ... 'OOOOTEEEENI'!!!

Tatooineis the second largest planet! The first nation of smuggling! And the best part of the galaxy!

Just read the whole thread and dished out some 5 star love to all the guys who posted,havent myself as i couldnt really think of anything to add(well actually i did but a post that read..SOE *edit* *edit*edit* etc wouldnt have made much sense)

Now i do need some clarification as i think my eyes are playing up...did i see a dev post there and not only use the word smuggler but(i must be wrong)point us in the direction of some actual smuggling content??!!for smugglers only!!!!!!?????

Its late over here in the UK (1.00 am almost) i must have fallen asleep at the keyboard and am in fact having a very vivid and believable dream.....

You are not dreaming. JFreeman did said that. Actual "Smugglers only", ground-Smugglers-who- took-the-Smuggler-profession only missions, on Talus.

While I've heard nothing official, the general consensus amongst the correspondents is that these are related to Smuggling only in name.
