Thread: Poll: Do want to pick your slice?

The smugglers in question saw choice A and chose not to vote for it. It is pretty arrogant of you to assume that you know what they meant when they picked something other than A. There was even one who said he would vote for C and not support choice A but you are still counting C votes as A. It would be more fair to just disregard any vote that is not choice A or B. Unless you do that, I still contend that this is a fixed poll.

I used to think A...but now I would say modified B...but reduce the window of percentages for master's. IE, instead of 10-45% at master level for armor, make it something like 20-35. Same with weapons. I agree, if you are given the choice, it should ONLY be for masters. Even more so, it should be for the master smugglers own personal weapon. And for heaven's sake, get rid of this idea of "weapon buffs".

Now, (A) leaves a lot of room for discussion so, please don't discuss it. Whether you think only Masters should get it, it should be an experimentation style, all Smugglers should be able to choose, or whatever. If you just really think a smuggler should be able to pick the attribute they wish to slice, choose (A).

Since a system where picking the attribute but not giving a 100% chance of success is in fact a system that allows a smuggler to pick a slice, C means you vote for A. You are in favor of a system that allows a smuggler to pick their attribute at the chance of a total failure. That is clearly a pick-a-slice system.

All C votes are A votes.

No, I think C votes were, in fact, C votes. They are saying keep it random, just give smugglers some chance of influencing the outcome (possibly with a lower percentage potential). Stop trying to change the rules of your poll and influence it to one side or another to get yourself more votes. Let people say what they want. Also, we had a massive poll like this one before (it may have been for experimentation, but it was still the same thing essentially (make us slice better for the same fee)) and it was split down the middle, much like this poll seems to be. Even if you get 75% to say pick-a-slice, that will be a tiny percentge of the smuggling population overall.

Given mordan's description of the option, this sounds like option A to me. Mordan should have either asked the people who posted under option C to either change their vote to A or B, or consider their vote as a "no vote"

Given that this ismordan's poll, you can either vote using his options, or dont vote at all. Had he opened the poll to other suggestions, option C may have been valid. At the end of the poll, you just need to be sure that the information gathered is not misrepresented is anyway. In other words, if Mordan goes around saying that 90% of the community voted for option A, that is misrepresentation. If he says that 90% of the people that responded to his poll chose option A, then that is fine.

A. but you should be able to pick which one starting at novice, and your chance of success at getting that should increase up to master. (I know you didn't want discussion, but I think it's an important distinction and I'm keeping it short )

Geez after reading the whole thread... those of you who are arguing about interpretation as to whether he can consider 'c' votes as 'a' votes... you're just ridiculous. The VERY START of this thread makes it quite clear... A means make some way to pick, B means leave well enough alone. Under that set of circumstances, it is IMPOSSIBLE to have an option C that is not included under option A... unless of course, option C. is 'Please revoke my access because I should not be allowed to read posts let alone vote.' This is why dictatorships rule...
