I agree with this. I think we should keep the current system for PvE and adopt the new one for PvP. Surely they can implement some sort of code for that?

things like this will make certain areas of the game very difficult indeed almost to the point of impossibility when a major part of the groups I lead is a good smuggler who knows what to do and how to keep people off our backs. with these changes I can see my groups becoming overwhelmed very quickly.
I can only say one thing:
I told ya so. I figured they'd do something like this. But everyone was too happy because concussion could now daze and root. So what if it could break on damage, right? Wrong, because now you'll shoot someone and they'll mez for half a second at which point someone else will accidentally use aoe or shoot them directly and they'll un-mez and run up and kill you.
Yes, remind me again, how does this make us live up to our 5 in crowd control?
What it should be is an UNBREAKING mez+root that'll last the full 30 seconds and then have that timer. Sort of a, "If I can't kill you fast enough, I'm screwed," sort of thing. Heck, drop the timer if you have to. But something that'll last like all of a second in a pvp battle and can't be reapplied for another 30 is an absolutely useless skill.
I'll pop onto TC within the hour and try this out for myself also.

You will have to either be very quick (that's a bug imho and may be fixed) or wait for the anger/rage to wear off before you can re-mez
OR
If you used panic shot as the first mez then you can hit with concussion shot to remez (possibly also vice versa, unsure if that's a bug or intended)

Have you ever tried incapping someone before concussion broke on damage? I can tell you now that very few templates would allow you to incap them before the timer is up. I know, I used that tactic many hundreds of times.
The point is not to give us an "all winning" tool, its to give us something we can defend against when we get raped by rifleman or most especialy TK/Pikeman. With this change, Smuggler will not be able to hold its own against ANYONE in this game. So while you're laughing at all the people who use the chain tactic, just remember that you are also laughing at yourself for being 10 times more gimped than we were a week ago.

I hope it stays that way. Atleast we will still be able to form some kind of defense for ourselves otherwise mezzing itself becomes utterly useless for a profression with praticaly no form of defense.
If the devs trully wish to through all our decent stuff out the window, isn't it time the actual accuracy and defense bonuses gained in smuggler were bumped up to allow us to survive long enough to actually do "crowd control".
I swear, they give us a bone one week and take away an entire dinosaur the next
