Thread: I Want Information and I Want it NOW.
I, too, would like some information. What are the plans for "smuggling missions?" What, if any, are the plans fora contraband system? Are there plans for Smugglers to end up on the BH terminals, and if so, what causes this to happen (It better be smuggling)? What is the future of the spice line?
Bottom line: can someone please communicate what is going on with the Smuggler Profession? It has been over two years now. It has been over 1 year since the first detailed posts by GreenMarine regarding the contraband/smuggling missions system.
I am not going to blame the community managers, because I truly believe this is a problem that comes from the TOP of the food chain at SOE/SWG. I will not go into the possible reasons WHY Management feels it is unnecessary to communicate with its customers, but let's face it -- many of us are STILL HERE so why should they think that it IS necessary? They still get our subscription money.
Mom always said "Actions speak louder than words." Which is a polite way of saying "Money talks. Bullsh!t walks."
I am not ready to cancel yet so I know I am not one to talk, but like I said above -- why should they worry? Nearly all of us are still here. And if we leave, others will likely come to take our place. And the new "smugglers" won't know any better because by then all the threads where we were promised attention and given detailed proposals for implementationover the last two years will have been deleted.
We've tried being polite, patient, constructive. We've tried rebelling (several times). It's cyclical around here. Every few months we go through this rebellious phase and then we get chastised by the community relations people and told they respond only to constructive posts. So we do our damndest to be constructive. But the truth is, it doesn't really matter how we behave. They DON'T respond -- for months and months at a time.
And only AFTER changes have been made -- for example, part of our "revamp" was the new, improved, Slicing"which was nothing like they said it would be; it was implemented and THEN they sought feedback. Meh. Now I am getting riled.
Anyway. Yes, please. I would like some information, please. Because I pay for this game and have for almost two years.
Please? Pretty please? With sugar and pixie on top? Communicate with us?

We better get some info and we better get it fast. Media outlets are not gonna buy that all these players are liars a second time. I suggest you get your act together really fast SOE or the bad PR you got awhile back will be NOTHING compared to the sh!tstorm that starts this time.

This and a dozen others. I'm surprised a bunch of us aren't banned as well but I guess SOE doesn't like to intentionally make martyrs.
They're not going to talk to us. They don't actually have anything to say. For me they would have to give us some REALLY spectacular SMUGGLING and I just don't see that happening. If they had it planned they'd have updated the In Concept thread and kept us happy as clams. If they had it planned they'd have nipped this whole mess in the bud earlier today before it got way out of hand. Even AFTER it got out of hand they could have placated the entire community me included by telling us about the wonderful content they had planned.
Fact of the matter is there ISN'T any wonderful content planned. MAYBE they have a watered down version of what was In Concept...like what they did to slicing...but somehow I even doubt that.
None of those that so badly want to give SOE the benefit of the doubt can offer any reasonable explanation of why the In Concept SMUGGLING content thread was allowed to go on for five months without ANY feedback from them. Then mysteriously disappear with not one word from them.
These past two years I have asked for absolutely NOTHING from SOE except to be able to SMUGGLE. That ONE thing is all I've ever asked for and it really isn't any more than the name of the profession. How anyone can claim that is selfish is beyond my understanding. How SOE can ignore it perpetually is beyond my understanding. Fortunately for me, for SOE and even for many in this forum I won't need to deal with it after July 27.

Man this reminds me of the flaming on the AS boards a ways ago. Allthough this is likely to get worse. As here people have been building up fustrations for an extremely long time.
