Did I say anything about soloing hordes? I'm not a rifle toting, grenade throwing, hard armor wearing, goose stepping combatant with a stick up his nether regions.

I'm a smuggler. I want to smuggle. I want to be able to have a chance to get away should I be caught smuggling. When I've smuggled, I want to go to a cantina and sit with friends and drink beer and eat pie.

I don't want to be responsible for keeping 7 other people alive and getting them through their levels. The only time I want, as a smuggler, to be responsible for lives other than my own, is when they're my cargo.

well our combat viability and smuggling are two diff things. However our specials are PREFECT for doing the getting away you refer to so I fail to see who you are so upset.

I'm upset because I still can't smuggle.

Years ago when EQ was young, I made an enchanter. I did that because I wanted to enchant. They made enchanters the crowd control class there too. I didn't want to be crowd control then, and I don't want to be crowd control now. Let the folks who figure out queues at Disneyland be crowd control. Let squad leaders be crowd control. Hell, ask rangers if they want crowd control.

I want someone to look at the profession and ask, what does this profession do? What makes them cool to the people who chose this profession. Then do it.

I don't want to be told that my chosen profession is "ok" just because we can do something that's completely meaningless to the definition of the titled profession.

On that note, I'm off to have beer and pie.

I'm not saying we are 'ok'. we still need lots of work but we have combat viability. Yes I want to smuggle as well but that's an unrelated issue to combat.

I'd recommend dropping Smuggler. There is not the money in it that some believe. Little in slicing, unless you already have a stockpile of components...and almost NONE in spicing. No missions to take, nothing. Just a half-working 'root' to help your main profession. That's all.

Concussion shot is far from a 'half working root'. I'm sick and tired of smugglers that pitch a fit cause 'it does not work right'. Good lord, coupled with panic Shot it's the single most effective CC combo in the game. When my group of friends and I go raiding I'm the first one targeted (well and my good friend who is master enhanser..for some reason FR3 and stasis (basicly concussion shot) are not liked). Yeah it hurt us in the solo game but made us 100 x more usefull in the group enviroment.

The problem with these is the way the fixed the "chain" mezzing problem. It severely reduced the efficiency of these moves. If they were to adjust the state that is on the target when the mez breaks, it would go a long way to making these skills useful again.

The problem I find is that because a couple of the guys I do regularly hunt with are commandos, I rarely get to use these skills. The only time I ever seem to use them in a group anymore is when a krayt aggro's before my group is ready.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114
