Hey folks. There certainly is a lot to talk about today, so I'll get right to it.

The announcement about the delays of the combat balance and the GCW had a strong impact and a large portion of the community was unhappy to hear about these delays. It is understandable how disappointing the announced delays are to much of the community. The entire team apologizes for not being able to deliver these key systems when we had hoped to do so.

In the time between now and JtL, we will be focusing on fixing some of the key issues we have not addressed in anticipation of the combat balance in every two week mini-publish between now and Publish 10.This work will continue between Publish 10 and the Jump to Lightspeed.Watch for these issues to be posted on the In-Development and In-Testing sections of the website for each upcoming publish. These issues are being prioritized based on your input and our ability to fix them in the near term. Some of this work is beyond a quick fix, but we will fix as much as possible between now and the JTL launch to improve everyone’s play experience. We are also committed to refining combat as much as we can before the major revamp.

The design documents for the combat revamp will start appearing in the In-Concept and In-Development sections of the website within two weeks, so we can get your feedback during the front end of the design process.

We are committed to not rushing our publishes to ensure they are high quality and to continued discussions with you for feedback on what is being worked on to improve the game.

WHAT! Lame. The big announcement was that everything that we knew was being postponed was being postponed. BFD.

So, does this mean at least some of our issues have a slim chance of making it in during this publish purgatory we have going here between 9 and 10?

I would like to propose that we put together a list of top 5 "quick fixes" for smuggler, ASAP! If the BHs can get a quickie in this land of no major changes, perhaps we can get some of the more simple and annoying items snuck in as well? Then again, that BH fix wasnt exactly what I'd call "small"...

In that announcement he said this:

(1) Sorry

(2) We are now going to fix as much crap as we can in relation to the GCW and the Combat Balance between now and when the full team really hits these issues hard - this I easily see as fixing borked specials and fixing the bugs... very do-able. Pepper in some documentation for professions like smuggler

(3) They are now choosing to show their ideas about the GCW and CB in less than two weeks to the public. Pretty cool

In a nutshell, "we are now deciding to fix s*** that to make your life easier and so we the dev team aren't lynched " Grant it, the fixes won't be as big as a nice, shiney "new" combat system, but expect broken specials and bugs to be fixed - also some actual balancing for combat. If specials get fixed... wow.. I'd be pretty damn happy

They have already fixed ALOT of BH bugs in the past week or two. Carbine specials are reportedly fixed now. Combat Medic is getting finally f'ing balanced. These are recent changes...

If only they fix the pistoleer specials... hotdog! we might actually be feared on the battlefied

Well not to sound like I work for SOE or anything, but if they go through the professions' fix-list that the correspondents hand them... they will find PLENTY of quick, easy, and relieving fixes to do to professions... I think they are headed down those lines, and I'm pretty damn optimistic about the situation we are in

Hmmm in the GCW and Combat Balance thread, TH says that tomorrow, July 21st, there will be an important announcement.

Let's guess as to what that could possibly be. While I think that it might relate to the combat balance..I feel it wil be....... *drum roll*

They give everyone Force-sensitivity instead of you having to unlock it!!!!

Who knows? Anyone got any good guesses for fun (for fun.. try to avoid being too cynical okay)

For shiznitzers and giggles I bet 50 credits that it will be Force-sensitivity!

lol. Keep those fingers crossed Caylin, who knows what the future holds eh? (at the very least you'll be able to meet the guy that beat you at the correspondent summit.. at best you'll be able to meet your fellow correspondentswearing a dev badge).

As to the announcement, while I had resigned myself to accepting the way things were, begrudgingly accepting it was probably the right order to do things in, I now feel a lot better about how things are going; I wouldn't say I'm happy as such, but I'm frowning less

Who knows, we might even see Pistoleer get a little love, eh?

maybe this would be a good time to put pressure on them to implement greenmarines idea of allowing a smuggler to grind any ranged weaponline instead of pistols, and let the specials work with any ranged weapon.... hell, if they can change the prereqs for bh...

Ive always hated being limited to pistols. being able to lowblow with a rifle would rule.

Also, I demand the meatpants.

(actually, I demand ANY pants. GIVE WOOKIES SOME LEGWEAR LOVE)

Some of them are. Like putting text into the master box, for example. And while others like allowing us to take any 1 brawler line as a prereq have already been confirmed as being a complex reprogramming, there can be a lot done to our profession in the meantime that are doable under the circumstances. Things like small improvements to spice seem particularly doable when held up against the changes made to BH during this period of "no updates"
