I think it's cool and still don't think the complaints are justified. We won't be getting anything combat-related till the CU and we won't get anything seriously smuggly until the revamp, so in the meantime, I do appreciate this small gestures our way.

But, Tomo, you gotta realize. Tributes like this are meaningless to me. True, Ive only been a Master Smuggler Since May '04, but I don't want little scraps thrown to me. I just want them to say, "hey, we're fixing you, here it is and it's everything you asked for. Please Enjoy" THAT'S what I want. Smugglers don't craft. Smuggler's dont deal drugs. SMugglers take illegal items from one side of the city/planet/galaxy to the other. THIS is what we are supposed to do. I'm tired of bones thrown at us, and I think so many of us are as well. We want the whole freaking cow.

We all do. Some of us have been wanting that cow so long our ribcages have imploded and we've gone into a Zen-like state where the worst they can possibly do is delay our revamp again, and seeing as how that would be no worse a day than any other since we've picked up smuggling, it's almost funny. Evidently we've also died, because right now we find ourselves in a heaven or very fiendish brand of hell where the next two major projects are 1) the CURB, which should bolster our ability to fight, and 2) the profession revamp, which should grant us the ability to smuggle. If all goes well, it's heaven and we'll very quickly not know what to do with ourselves; if it goes badly, it will be a punishment more devilishly clever than all the last year and a half of abuse and neglect, and I hope all of you have stored automatic weaponry in the walls of your house as well.

But either way, we won't be seeing anything significant until either of those publishes, so to get riled up about the addition of a gaming table, to actually be mad the devs gave us a neat piece of flavor in this time of helpless waiting, is to send the wrong signal. Not that we should be slobbering on them with gratitude, either--the way I see it, the proper response to them for this and the bubble tank is the way Don Corleone would respond to a glass of wine offered him at dinner by a faceless underling. We give them a nod, no smile, eye contact optional: "You're damn right gonna give me a glass of wine, I'm Don Corleone, but know that your gesture is appreciated and that, with the appropriate levels of loyalty and further service, you may be promoted and eventually thanked for your deeds with the warmth and amity due a trusted friend. Now get out of my sight and go earn that trust before I stuff your face down this bowl Jabba keeps his frogs in."

More gambling sounds awesome, and giving it to smugglers equal"more awesome" (or awesomer).

People always say "Smuggler" should be about smuggling first and foremost.

Does going from point A to point B all day seem fun to anyone?Could you makeup 4 skill trees just aboutrunning around items?Being a gopher sounds boring to me.

I like being a drug dealer, hacking terminals, improving weapons/armor, & using cheap moves like last ditch, low blow(s) and feign death. Now add being a gambler into the mix and this makes me happier.

Well considering that we can do nothing to speed up the revamp, I'll take bones over starving. It's a given they have no idea what to do with us, and it's not what we want or need, but I'll take it in the meantime.

JTG; "What the hell else we gonna do? Sit here and be pissed off? "

Ummm...yes?

Look SOE will try and pacify us in any simple way they can. The more pacified we allow ourselves to become the more they think they can turn their back on us.

Personally I think these little bones are leading up to a long delay in our revamp and are a way of 'easing' the pain.

IF they were really going to get us to smuggling in a timely fasion WHY would they bother to throw basically meaningless bones like this?

Yes, and we ALLLL know that...but what good does that do us? None. The revamp isn't going to get moved up. It'll get here when it gets here. We'll get NOTHING we want or need until then. So what turn down the free goodies we DO get, as silly, or assinine as they are. Say they're assinine, and have fun with your random gaming table. Hell, be a scoundrel and sell it, if it offends you. But why should we take NOTHING when we know that's all we CAN get. It's not like they're going to give us smuggling in a mini-loot publish.

Well in THAT case I think I'd like a schematic for dancer's leg-warmers...you know the highly taxed ones made of wookie fur?

I like the idea of having gambling tables and casino machines built by smugglers, nobody else really has a say in illegal activities. And if we could set them up to steal some poor Ithorian's creds, then all the better!

Spinning Cloud all I'm saying is, what's more fun and productive? Sitting around and being pissed? Or laughing at the absurdity of the gifts and using them to your advantage?

Uh, leading UP TOa long delay?

Newsflash: it's BEEN a long delay, and will continue to be a long wait.

Trust me, everyone wants a Smuggler Revamp as much as you do, but we're just as ok with them tossing us something as opposed tonothing. That's all. If you don't like it, go be a dancer until we have our revamp or find something else to occupy your time.

The way I see it, at least they are acknowledging the existence of this profession.

Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.
