And people wonder why players buy presliced weapons.
Because they enjoy paying 20 times more than what they should have paid for it.

Yesterday was slicing hell for me. I sliced like 6 VKs for myslef, a VK for someone else, 2 pistols for a guy, some armor for my alt, and 3 guns for this other guy. Then I receive a /tell asking if I can slice something, I say sure 10k per. I get the guys guns (2 pistols) and proceed to slice them. "CRAP, 17% speed, and 19% damage", " ARGH!!!!!!!! The slicing gods hated me" Neways, I tell the guy it'll be 20k for the pair and he pays me. He also says "Wow, 10k each, you need to find cheaper supplies, but thats ok, I'll make a boatload selling them, thanks" WHA?!!!!, you complain about spending 10k each on weapons that you are already gonna make a profit on, thenI KNOW that you're gonna raise the price on them WAY over 10k each. (I notice at vendors that sliced weapons/armor usually have a 30k+ premium over non-sliced weapons) And you wanna complain about MY Prices? WHA?!!. Sometimes other players baffle me. Like Im gonna slice at cost for you. Or I'm not gonna make money on a deal that you are gonna make a LOT of profit on.
What's the galaxy coming to. Please, someone tell me. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The other good way to stop people complaining about the price is to pre-slice the weapons, pop them on the vendor at a huge mark-up and never put up your Master Smuggler tag - people happily pay over the odds when they see pre-sliced weapons on a vendor!

Most of the time, the Smuggler & Weapon/ArmorSmith combos are Smith first, Smuggler afterwards.
The vast majority of us here are Smuggler first and foremost, then whatever the hell we wanna tack on afterwards.

The point I was makeing is why someone would welcome dealing with a player that has decided to treat them badly. Maybe I am oldfashioned, but I will smile as I cut your gun. If you give me grief I aint going to slice your gun. That simple. Then again I will give away slices when I am in the mood. I am just not overly consumed by credit lust. Its much more fun to me to give someone a smile.
Heck I was running some missions out of yavin the other day, and got incapped by a commando for wasteing a tech. When a noobish player jumped right in and pulled him off of me even though he wasnt much of a match for him. Then he came back and gave me a heal. Anyway I was greatful and decided to give him a couple guns.
I sliced them a 25 percent damage slice on dh17 pistol, and 35 percent damage slice on a laser rifle which maxed it at just over 600. I smiled since he obviously didnt know what he was getting with the laser rifle. He offered to pay but I declined.
Later on that day as I was running jtl missions I was back in the outpost and saw him talking to his friend. Who was going wiggy over the laser rifle. It gave me a real good laugh. Since finding laser rifles that good is so rare.

Yeah I know there are a ton of jerks in the game. Beleive it or not as a weaponsmith I have heard worse. Examples.
Do you make weapons. Nah I got the title because it looks cool. I am just looking to make weapons for myself.
I want a super fast insert weapon. Why is it so weak, because its superfast. No thanks.
I will buy all your resources for 200 million. Lets see you spent two weeks camping fort tusken I spent over a year getting these resources. Come back when you have a billion.
What do you mean do I want this gun scoped?
What do you mean do I want my grenades to have a powerup.
What do you mean do I want the weapon stocked.
Can you make a better weapon then whats on your vendor. You know the good weapons you keep for yourself.
Can you make me a rantok sword. No thats only looted from the last mission on the jabba themepark. Why wont you make me a rantok sword. Look there is no rantok schematic you have to loot one thats the only way to get it. Fine if you do not want to make me one. What pill did you forget to take this morning.
I got an uber rancor tooth can you make me a sword from it. Sure can but you will not like it. Why. It will be very week. I do not care I want a rancor sword okay. Make and give the sword. I am going to report you I know you stole my rancor tooth.
What do you mean by critical failure. I gave you eleven krayt tissues. Sorry sometimes t21s just blowup during construction and really suck because of it. Your lieing you stole my krayt tissue. Yeah you just watched me spend thirty minutes handcrafting and running schematics to make this gun for you. I am that skilled of a liar.
The list of free flowing stupidity goes on.
So I empathise with the point that some people are jerks. I just dislike the thought of already being filled with venom. If someone comes to me with attitude. I just refuse to help them. I do have a list myself of people I will not do business with, but those people are either exploiters, or greivers. I just find it disturbing to go out with the thought that your going to have to screw and argue with another player today.

yeah, it is disturbing. thats why I don't wear my master Smuggler title in cnet. I try to avoid these kinds of things before they even get to me. Solve the situation before it becomes a problem. I am proud to be a Master Smuggler, but the tell-hell when u go somewhere like cnet keeps one from being able to do anything else, so i do not wear my title. Master weaponsmiths and armorsmiths experience the same thing i hear, and I find it easy to believe. I experienced it when I did armorsmith and wasn't even a master yet. wore the expert AS title to mining outpost on dant, and the tell-hell started, i didn't think it would be a problem since i wasn't master, but it was. so i can only imagine how the tell-hell must be for masters

It's not that we treat customers badly. I treat all my customers well, and as I said, i don't even charge for a slice that is less than 20% and guildies r free as r the vast majority of newbs. regardless, if you have not already, u will slice a gun for someone, and tell them with regret that u got an 18% speed slice. they will then proceed to grief you, tell u what an awful slicer you are, and how they refuse to pay you. or you will be told that your prices are way too high, and that you are trying to rip them off (i actually had someone tell me that back when i was only chraging 5k per slice). if you have not already, read the "Chuckle forthe Smuggler" thread stickied at the top of the page. there r lots of stories in there of exactly what i am talking about. I actually don't have that whole thing in my bio anymore, but it is still my general policy. If someone sends me a tell saying "d00d, i n33d an ub3r 1337 sl1ce11?!1!1" i will say that I am busy, because i have dealt with enough of those types of players to know that they will hate my pricing, and hate me when they get an 18% speed slice. also they will refuse to understand what I am telling them when I explain the randomness of the slicing system. they are the same type of players who have been around for months, but even if u have your master smuggler title up, they will ask "r u a master sl1cer???" So to avoid all that grief and headache, I don't slice for those kinds of players. besides, they tend to group together anyways, and I'm sure one of them is a smuggler.
An example, last night in the cnet cantina i got a tell from a guy I had never met before. He told that he needed some containers opened, and although he normally saved them for novices, he could not find on atm and needed the containers for storage reasons. He talked to me normally, no flames or demands, and no leet speak. so I sure "I'm in the cantina." he comes in there, I slice 6 containers open for him. I was polite to him and he to me. he then asked if i was going to be there for a while because he had some armor he needed sliced as well. I told him sure, and he shows up 10 mins later with the armor. all this to say, I may have made a new client just because we were both respectful of one another, and he understood the slicing system. he even got a 23% enc on a piece of armor, but didn't get mad about it, like those ub3r 1337 players do. It's not an issue of treating people badly, the issue is that smugglers catch a lot of grief from players who refuse to understand the slicing system, and common coutesy. So as an easy solution, the majority of smugglers do not slice for those types of people. (and for me at least, i am not rude to them, i just tell them I am busy)

This thread is 1/2 joking and more over address the people who give us a really hard time about slicing.

I treat all my customers very kindly, only a few things I hate, and then I get pissed:
#1 No greeting, just the "Slice this for me dude"
#2 No tipping..... Some dudes just trade you, and when you trade back they don't tip. I am polite, and I wait for my tip. I HATE asking for a tip, it makes me feel like a beggar and I'm no beggar. 10x Charge for those guys.
#3Wining about "I want a damage slice please...." My respons: "Sure but thats 100k extra". Slices are RANDOM idiot!
#4 Slicing 8 bags of armor just to get the 90% suit... Armor slicing sucks, the stupid color pallette pops up every time. It annoys me to death.
#5 Full inventory's after container slices.... AARGH I HATE THAT! You want me to get you some containers with crap in them, but you are to stupid to think about the extra space, and trading me over and over again untill you figure out to clear your inventory! 50k extra per container item.
#6 No thanking. When I sliced your stuff I bow, and you have to thank me, otherwise I think your not really polite and the next slice you want is 50k extra
#7 Spamming on a starport "Looking to get my weapons sliced". This is wrong. I never react to it!!! SLICING IS ILLEGAL. DON'T EVEN SAY THE WORD SLICING IN PUBLIC, Stormtroopers are everywhere. I am a roleplayer, this is just stupid. Use the search option on your community sheet and give me a tell.
These are my general rules, I like slicing if it's for the right person.

See, what most people don't get is that all we want is to be treated with respect. We are people, not walking laser knives. Ifa player needs a slices and treats me with respect he/she will never find a nicer slicer. However, if I am treated with disrespect or made to wait a playercan expect to be mocked, belittled, and gouged horribly in price.
