I need to get ahold of the Fallouts, for some reason, despite my love of the good old fashioned post-apocalyptic rpg/adventure games (Full Throttle anyone?) they somehow slipped past my radar...

If you love post-apocalyptic Fallout are definately your game. The first one's graphics are a little dated, the 2nd one has better graphics but the beggining 45 minutes suck because you have to kill ants in a temple with a stick to get an old shirt your grandpa wore. Fallout Tactics became my favorite though, decent graphics, team dynamics, better weapons and boards.

They have billions of easter eggs in the games, for example one random luck spot you find while wandering is a board where there is an internet spammer in the middle of the screen and all the developers close in on him and beat him until he's a splotch of goo. Every one of the developer characters has a name and a funny description making fun of the individual. (Don't worry, that's just one spoiler, but there are hundreds and hundreds of movie, game and RL references in the game. They like Monty Python easter eggs too... hehe.)

There are tons of hidden content triggers too, so the games are definately replayable for different experiences.

I recommend playing from the first one to become completely immersed in the game and fall in love with the series.

That is the Unwashed Villagers killing a Spammer that keeps talking about Multiplayer optionsand the like.

They have descriptions If I remember correctly, there was an awareness skill I think that gives more in depth detail. I could be wrong, haven't played number 1 for a long time. The intro moviesonthat seriesare great too - very well designed games and content. There is also a way to kill the head vault guy in number 1 too, very hard to do and hard to time - but they actually coded a small bit content dialogfor if you can pull it off. Hint: he has to be outside the vault talking to you, not on his giant metal platform.

Somehow it was very satisfiying turnig that guy's insides into chitlings. if you play Falout 2 there is actually mention of the Overseer being killed by the vault dweller

One thing I liked about 1 was that you could loot armor. You cannot do that in 2.

Really? I didn't know that. I might have to replay that a bit. My favorite tag along was the guy who produced Jet, he made me laugh. I liked the nice red converse they had him wear too. If you never tried it, try having him wait for you somewhere and dropping him from the group. He gets all flustered and his remarks are funny, I was like wow! this game rocks when I heard what he had to say...

His name is Myron, and he is good for nothing but making stimpacks and super stimpacks. Bring lots of fruit, syringes and nuka cola
