Thread: A Smuggler’s Guide to Pistol Experience Ver. 1.4
- Bols give nice experience, but you need to be buffed for those and have a fast pistol/pistoleer speed tree. Note, that not the lesser bols (die to easily) and not seething bols (poison and a bit more difficult than regular ones)
- Imperial Faction missions - you can always go hunt rebel npcs. At lvl 80 and above, you can always run into 2-3 NPCs for 3K xp per pop, with the other 2 in high 2K
- Gurks. Every gurk gives at least 3K pistol xp if soloed. Definteily need buffs for these. Wathc out for King Gurks, as they are tough and do DB
- Nym's Droidekas. That's right. If you can kill one, thenthat's over 4K in pistol xp. Defintely need buffs. You can get missions for Nym's guard bases from regular mission terminals. Nym's guards usualy have couple (the guards themselves are around 2K xp). One thing to consider - if you are itnerested in Nym's quest, do that before you start killing his men.
- Snorballs. Never did them with pistols, but I heard of people who did forgood XP. They are somewhat easier than droidekas though.
- Imperial Faction missions - same as for Dantooine.
cshauny,
What is the template you were using at the time to do the crystal snake runs? Were you a straight smuggler, or were did you have other things in your skill set that may have enabled this method to be so successful?
Good point Caylin, I'll clarify that and make mention of it as two separate abilities. And I'll make some modifications on the plantes to make it easier to read. They were a different color, but for some reason every time I previewed it the colors did not show up correctly (using hex codes).
Added a couple links I felt were useful. I think this is the final revision now until after the combat changes. Please fee lfree to continue to post tactics though, as I have heard a few people say this has really helped.

It looks good now but I thought the previous version had more detail to it![]()
Heh, in a way it did, but this way the onformation is in all of the posts and I could focus on a good presentation of what to look for and tips that work anywhere. The individual tactics are left up to each person to figure out, as well as just reading through the posts.
I do plan to be more in depth with tactics as soon as we see what changed Publish 7 brings for certain, as I don't really want to write up what I do currently just to have it change soon.
I figured all in all it was just a cleaner approach to providing the information, and then I can continually update the rest as needed. It also keeps me from just copying other posts and dropping them in place, making it easier to find the exact information you are looking for.
This could easily change in a later revision, as I am certain after the combat changes I'll be changing a lot of the information and giving more specific pointers in the original part. I'll keep that in mind though, cshauny, and may revise it again as such. ![]()
