Blah, what style do you do Franklee? Shoot fighting? Judo? Brazelian Jujitsu? IM a 10 year wrestler and may be doing some K-1.... maybe we can tag team him Frank... anyways...
I am just blown away that this guy is in such a high position... he obviously is not aware of his surroundings..... If he were over here where I am at, I would punch him in the throat!

Shodan in Kenpo Karate (Tracy system) and nearing Shodan in JuJitsu. Might make black in Judo by 2006, if I can keep up my progression. We do jujitsu/judo virtually tandem, but Judo's a bit harder to perfect.

K1? Damn nice. I have a bit too much respect for my body to compete professionally. My gf still marvels at my bruises, but I can point at one and go:
that one's from kesa-gatame... this one's from his grip for the cross choke... that one's a crappy breakfall...

Jujitsu seems to be more my style, even though it's my second art. It's like kenpo + grappling. With my size, grappling gives me a huge advantage.

.475 Wildey Magnum for me, 8" barrel and 300 grain JSP's in the magazine. All I need to defend my family with. If I feel like going easy, I just change out to the 45 Winmag barrel and use 180 grain HPs.
But I have studied martial arts too - you may find yourself in a situation when taking the time to draw the weapon can get you killed.

That's my kind of philosophy! I carry a .45 Sig p220, a beauty of a carry piece.

But like I tell my students, nobody's ever going to wrestle your hands away in the dark of night and shoot you with them.
The arts started out as how to fight, for me, but it's not that way anymore. I never get in fights. It's more about having a consistent non-work goal; 2nd degree in 3 years, or black in another art in 2, or 1000 crunches in an hour, or something arbitrary but hard. Been too long out of cardio to do any crunches, but hey.

Anyway, to echo an ontopic sentiment, **edit** is with these guys? Doesn't anyone proofread what they put out? He directly contradicts himself or his other posters almost every time he opens his mouth.

Hmm, at least the nimrod sort of apologized for brushing all the backlash of the delayS off as nothing but a few disgruntled yahoos. They still don't get it imho.

And 2 1/2 years in Chito Ryu Yoshu Kai(Okinowan) Karate. Working and my brief tenure in college ended my karate days, but not a day goes by that I don't think about the various aspects of karate. Now I'm fully assimilated into the rat race/plug into the internet doldrum that sucks the life out of so many of us. Just so whipped from work that I hardly even go out to buy stuff any more, not to mention working second shift Have/had a few friends that liked to roll around on the "mat"(floor of their house) with, always fun to see who can tap the other out or slap on a good choke first hehe.

Mr. Blackman appears to be quite confused as to what smugglers were ticked about. Please remember though that Mr. Blackmen is not exactly part and parcel to the influence of the correspondent program. Thus his comments related to not bugging Thunderheart. I'll see what I can do to kinda straighten this up.

My initial reaction...

I retract anything i have ever said about Smuggler_Caylin not giving us what we need as a representative.....

I particpated in a number of arts over a 10 year period, but my favorite was Iaijutsu and Kenjutsu, drawing of a sword and the use of the sword respectively. Eventhough there's not much call for sword techniques in your average fight

I love the arts. I wish I'd started sooner. I'm thinking about doing Kendo, I've never studied a weapon style per se. We do a little work with bo, sai, and 'chucks, but it's largely ornamental.
My brother used to be into kendo and judo when he was in college, but he gave it up because local training was hard to come by.
Nobody wants to train hard (commercially) anymore. I was doing a little free randori last week and my novice partner slipped out of a throw, messed up his knee. My dojo's owner almost forbid sparring at all after that. I feel terrible about it, but I've screwed up joints, busted fingers and toes, and I wear bruises around like tattoos. It happens. It has to happen. If you're not getting hit, you're not getting trained.

Sorry about my totally off-topic martial arts post.

I don't want them to fix the UA line. I've been TK since day one. I like the synergy.

And I'm no closet TK, I'm a closet normal person. Martial arts I do out in the open.
