A small /bump and something that I think that should be considered:


If Smugglers were meant to be in "space" (As in JTL) it would mean a TOTAL re-vamp. Basically a TOTALLY NEW profession. think about it. I may be wrong (Havent been here long, but I do see some of the problems.) but if Smugglers were going to be "put into space" after JTL comes out, it would mean every skill tree we have would need to be TOTALLY different. If Smugglers were meant to be in space, why did they come with the initial release of SWG and not JTL? Just curious.

I agree that the smuggler profession belongs in space, and I think the reason for them being included in SWG is that they belong here, to smuggle stuff. rebels need stuff, rebels have to stay low key, hire smugglers via smuggler terminals... very simple equation.


in space I see more*non*smuggling smugglers unfortunately, and no slicing of ships... because I have lost all faith in this profession, rather the development of it. Ive only been novice smuggler for a few weeks and Ive been working harder at pistoleer than smuggler... I lost my faith look at some of these posts cataloging how many failed update deadlines, brush offs, new skills that were never granted, etc... Im sure jedi will get a skill to somehow smuggle somthing. This being the only possible reason I would want to be a jedi.


now a force sensitive smuggler is somthing I could get into.

Well, delaying the lair is actually usefull, while a lair is delayed, it can't spawn more defenders and can't heal the critter healing it. So, if you take out the actual fighters, and leave behind the healing critter, /panicshot the healer, which will also delay the lair. Then attack the healer, it can then heal the lair, but the lair itself is still delayed.

Helps to keep stuff off your back for a little while, at least.




Hmmm... never had a chance to develop that tactic or see it in action.


I kill the first mob around the lair.


I tap the lair then peace to let the second mob generate and then take them out.


After that, Itake the lair down to below 2/3's and peace. The lair will start spawning thethird mob.


After taking out the third mob, the lair goes away.


Since I'm not attacking it when they're spawning, the don't usually heal it.







Yeah, but there's always those types of lairs that spawn things the moment you attack them. Its usefull for stuff like that.

I dropped Master Smuggler 2 weeks ago and went all Melee-- and I'll tell you what, I'm having the best time in game that I've ever had as a weakass smuggler with no purpose but slicing !


My advice is to max out all your slicing and spicing xp and then drop the profession like a bad habit! It will get a nice revamp sometime in the distant future (after JTLS which will bring it's own problems that will need fixing thus retarding the process towards a Smuggler Revamp). Have fun and enjoy your 15 dollars a month by partaking in what works and dominates in this game.


I'm not trolling, but I am trying to keep as many quality players in the game. I think 90% of the smugglers I ever met or talked to were an asset to this game, and I'm only looking out for you.

The 10 month delay is some bs.


I have learned not to expect the Devs will bring out anything on there stated release date. Asi have stated before, we are paying for lies, decieves, and Dev fairy tales of how there going to revamp everything. Its just a fairy tale.

even as a novice is really bumming me out that the profession is broken. and the other side of this is that I was planning on going pistoleer, im a nov of that now, and apparently thats all jacked up to! I LOVE Star Wars, I love this game, I hate the development. they break 2 things to fix one and then leave it alone for months. The combat revamp is going to do nothing but creat more problems I bet.

jedi will either become impossible (I hope) or too easy, Combat revamp will make 2 uber leet classes and the rest will be messed up, and smuggler will be pushed off again, untill after they fix what they broke in jedi and combat revamp.

Ive been thinking about tka lately... but they'll screw them to.

Well for about 4 months I was Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer/Master Teras Kasi, and the only reason I kept Smuggler and Pistoleer was because I had Teras Kasi to play with all the time. It wasn't until I sat back and thought about how much I never used a pistol because for the most part they suck and for the other part Teras Kasi was 10x more enjoyable to play as.

It feels so good to be back!!!

Im actually glad to see im not the only one around here who is becoming a little less then faithful in the SWG dev team. I swear half the things in this game that are broken (ie: IMPERIAL COMMANDERS CAP) have been broken since launch or not to far after launch. In the meantime we have a full blown profession revamp underway (JEDI...btw F.U.C.K JEDI). While the Jedi revamp is being brought about the dev team has no time to change any of the other gaming systems because theyre all too lazy (dont listen to what they say about not having the time...**edit** i know if i had work to do where i work and i couldnt get it done id work *GASP* OVERTIME).

This game has deteriorated because of the (yes im saying it) JEDI and all you Jedi that wanna trump all over me for saying so....take a moment and think. When you bitched about not being able to deal a damage type that is UNBLOCKABLE BY ANYONE....well in a matter of a couple weeks you got your request. Second example, you complain about the fact that you need to hide while grinding. My opinion, KEEP IT THAT WAY! Jedi were NEVER meant to be out in the open in ANY of the Star Wars storylines. Hell im reading Heir to The Empire right now and Leia, Luke, Mon Mothma and the rest of the crew are....you guessed it. IN HIDING! But noooo....you guys got your TEFs removed with a simple request to the dev team. You know i wish the smuggle rprofession had gotten some of the leeway thats been granted to the Jedi, in respects that the Jedi make a demand and its met. Why cant, after our hundreds of pages of threads, we get even as much as an IMPROVEMENT to some of our current skills? Must we be floating the Jedi tag above our heads in order to be able to get what we want?

This has gone on for FAR too long and needs to be stopped. The smuggler revamp CANNOT and MUST NOT wait until after jump to lightspeed. What about the people who want to be smugglers and do not wish to participate in JTL? In essence what you are saying is an *OPTIONAL* expansion pack will now be REQUIRED if you wish to smuggle. Amazing, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I do understand that EVERY business is in business to MAKE MONEY. But how can you sit there and justify these actions? You are in every aspect of the word, deceiving the customer. Making them think they dont need to buy the expansion then when they go to the smuggler mission terminal they get a message "please purchase our expansion at the LOW price of $29.99. And thats where any SANE human being would CANCEL their subscription.

(Sidenote: I, for one, AM going to be buying the expansion. But im here defending the people who dont wish to spend the money/dont want the expansion.)

You would rather hang on to a smaller base of players (JEDI) then hang on to the MAJORITY of your players. I think in the next "State of the Game" letter you post on the main page, somewhere in that letter should be "This game will be progressing to making everyone a jedi and all other professions WILL be disregarded." As i see it right now the state of this game is HORRID and if i hear one more F.UCKING jedi complain about why they are repeatedly looked down upon im gunna explode. The games gotten worse and worse and wont be getting better anytime soon.
