Honestly...why do I keep on going? Why do I keep a profession that is, for all ensuing purposes, useless?

Because, I can't imagine being any other profession.

I'm not a TKA, AS, WS, Artisan, Fencer, Architect, Swordsman, Pikeman, DE, CM, Doctor, Medic, Brawler, Pistoleer, Rifleman, Ranger, Scout, CH, Commando, Squad Leader, Carbineer, Chef, BH,Tailor, Dancer, Entertainer, Image Designer, Musician, Merchant, Pilot, Politician, Shipwright, and last and most importantly, I am not a Jedi.

I am a Smuggler. I can't do anything else but be a Scoundrelless in this game. If Smuggler was deleted tomorrow, my account would go with it.

I love the lifestyle so much in game, that I'm willing to get slapped around, kicked while I'm down, lied to, led on, and let down for almost 2 years. I'm also willing to endure the same until I'm part of a profession that realizes its potential, regardless of the timeline.

Call me crazy, call me stupid, call me an eternal optimist that refuses to see the situation for what it is, call me whatever you want.

I'm not giving up, and it's not in me to ever consider it.

I'm willing to endure all sorts of pain, sadness, and anger...just to feel that adrenaline rush when I'm able to trulySmuggle something for the first time.

That's why I'm a Smuggler.

V E E L A "her royal hawtness"
I am Jack's Smirking Revenge. I am Jack's Ignored Profession.
Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

Editor's Note: The author of the above post has quit giving SOE her money. She suggests you do the same, because this game will never be what you want it to be.

You're a Smuggler because it's not about skills, it's a game lifestyle.

Smuggler, you either get it or you don't.

Oh, and it's cool as hell when you're minding your own business hanging out at a recruiter and someone asks you for 30k of FP

true id rather cancel my account than change proffesions. Its a shame that you cant grind some of jedi with out lightsabre as i think a amsuggler with force pwoers would be cool. And accoeidng to the proff calculator it can bedone. Id liek nothingmore than to chok esome dude who moans about a lsice.. but the massive temptle changesrequired ot ever do that means its nothign but an idle daydream,.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Because its what I do. Sadly I don't sell faction, nuetral in the silly war. I don't sell spices. So I only slice. Just found that I'm half the cost of the other smugglers in my galaxy, but hey whats a girl to do? I like my customers. They come to me by the crate load. I enjoy hanging around in a cantina with people constantly asking me for work. I'm always going to be a smuggler, the complimentary skills will just rotate in and out until the update happens to make the profession more interesting on its own. I've been the danceing smuggler, musician smuggler, fencer smuggler, pike, TKA, medic, and on and on..

I'm leaving smuggler because i feel too weak and not funny to play...

Now i got a launcher pistol and a scatter....
Now i have accuracy and speed using a pistol, lastditch is usefull again and not a "self delay" skill (used to delay me while missing my target :/)
Now i have something to hunt
Now i have many weapons i can use to fit my ennemy
I also dropped TKA because it's not fun anymore for me.... Launcher pistol is fun. Unarmedhit3 is fun and cool the first times you are using it.
And melee is crap after a while when you keep running at your ennemies that are spreading around...
And i'm not really used to be in first lines... I do prefer to be the artillery that fires from behind the lines....

But i stay smuggler in spirit and i'm grinding another char to master smuggler to still be able to help my mates in the GCW (no more global sales)

Maybe i was fed up because i had a lot of work. Many many faction stuffs to buy/sell, many stuffs i was asked about prices and uses. I spent lots of time selling faction stuffs... Loosing time to do anything else but gaining money, yes... lots of money...

Money can't buy fun.

- Feign death : on a krayt, if you're in a group, it's what he said : a way to make your death come faster (krayt are using aoe attacks)
- Slice : i could slice tons of stuffs really fast, making good money.... Perma clic, drag and drop isn't fun at all
- Pistol specials : useless without accuracy and speed : you need pistoleer or BH to make it usefull
- Underworld : buying FP : yes, why not when you want to sell it or when you're at master wanting to buy big faction stuffs... but not funny to run a conversation macro facing a recruiter (even if it's faster now. Previously, you could speak with your friend. Now you're alone with your recruiter)
- Spices : still the same. Check the description of the box spice 4 : it says "smugglers are able to get their hand on high quality Chems"... means smuggling, not crafting...

When i'll have every smuggler skill surrendered, i will only miss langage comprehension... to be able to listen to my twilek friend having good time with his girlfriend.... Smuggler in spirit

I used FD on Krayts last night just to test the nerf... FD is now pointless I feel it worked as this "let me lay down so I can wait for this Krayt to incap me" It's a great idea really...

Now i look at my other skills...... hmmm last ditch, very close to stopping shot of pistoleer really. Low-blow.. works sometimes.

Unarmed 4 - what's the point?

Underworld - why? so i can buy 1250 faction for 100k?

spices - so i can craft items that have a low demand?

FD- Again No point

Slicing - ok so it's convenient to slice my own stuff but not a big deal really I can go elsewhere

Can someone please remind me why I have 129 skill points wasted on a profession that now does next to nothing?

You know, I really don't know - maybe I'm still stuck in a rut. I guess for me it's the little moments, like finding a weaponsmith with 10 T21's on his vendor for 20000 each, buying them up and getting 3 maximum damage slices and a couple high speed slices then doing my happy dance like a freakin' idiot for an hour, or when I occassionally slice a exceptional weapon for a friend and getting a high slice for 'em.

I have confidence in the future, even though the devs have done everything in their power to dampen my confidence, I do have hope.

Cheers
Dat
