Thread: Dual Wield not in CURB (I thought this thread died)

One the curb should generally make all weapons equal thats what the curb is about. Two that being said this is just another backdoor way to

try and jack up pistoleers to FOTM status double the guns means double the firepower. Which really is what your thinking. Three hopefully the

devs are fixing the profession speed mods. So that rifles and carbines do not end up being super fast. Faster weapon weaker slower weapon

stronger. That makes enough sense right.

FIVE I am not a armorsmith well novice so I can make my own AUKs. I am a smuggler/weaponsmith. The fact that I will take another professions.

point of view is the fact that I can obviously empathise. Simply saying nerf so and so for my own reward is simply put a self centered act. We have

seen what this mentality has done in the past for TKMs, and RIflemen. Makeing them stronger then they should be. Perhaps you need to try and

see how a change in one profession affects another profession.

Makeing faction armor cost alot of faction points is good for smugglers, but is probabally bad for armorsmiths. Just as a armorsmith pushing for

makeing auks a master only item would be an increadible diservice to smugglers. Not following a party line is often looked at as a crime. Truth be

told there is a difference from say thinking out an issue, and jumping on the bandwagon.

We all know you have discussed devalueing smuggler moves. So you can drop smuggler yourself.

We all know your mindless proponents of makeing pistoleers FOTM.

We all know that you two want to be the super killing machines. Ignoreing the fact that pistoleer costs a pitance.

So here is an idea instead of peddling your dislike for haveing smuggler by saying that the devs arent jacking pistoleer up enough, or saying we

should all be sad because the devs arent going to let pistoleers have two pistols. Its self serveing and you hope the smugglers do not see what it

really is. A obvious attempt to get smugglers to support you in trying to cripple smugglers even more. 2 dx2s on 2 dh17s I wonder who is going to

own in that fight.

I am assumeing your a pistoleer and a tkm. That being said smuggler is a forgone conclusion to you. Simply because you spent the prereq points

already. After all we hardly here about you and your buddy talking about spice fp smuggleing sliceing. So to your point of view you do not want to

waste points on those. You just want the dirty fighting, and you would love it in pistoleer so you can drop this profession.

I on the otherhand saw the slice spice and the fighting mods as wonderful to pick up. Seeing as a weaponsmith I had very little combat potential.

I could use the moves to save me when I got ambushed. I wanted to slice my own stuff to increase my sales. I liked the idea of being able to make

spice seeing as thats an entirely different product to weapons. To get this I sacraficed my master artisan to the fire so I could have the points to

master. Went and ate the pointless unarmed line, and started useing those skills.

Now which one of us is the more smuggler oriented smuggler. I actually wanted all the skills. I do not want to see smuggler weakened. I use my

smuggler skills everyday. Hell I am even pro spice. You on the other hand want to drop smuggler or rip it apart and feed it to pistoleer. Some others

probabally do not see you for what you are but I do.

Can we say dual weild equals abuse. If each gun gets a mod setting, and you can carry two guys you can cover two thirds of the armors

here. Second way cool way to get around to hits by haveing two guns. Just hotbutton a command and one of the guns should hit it. I can

go on about how unfair or abuseing dueal weild weapons would be. Why the hell are you guys asking for this unless you just want to be a

FOTM.

aww, Christ! Actually I use TK for just about everything because pistoleer is such a pain to use, but I don't want to give it up. The point is that Dual

You know, go F### yourself. I already admitted that I shouldn't have posted this here. And you as an armorsmith and me as a pure smuggler (whatever, we don't smuggle, whatever) Anyway, you're not here for Smugglers, you're here to protect your stupid prof. I hope the CURB severely nerfs AS, why?

Because hte only people who wear armor is imperials. Some BHs but, thats ALL. AS just makes everything take longer.

ARGH!!!

I just thought it might be nice to pull out my pistols for use again, and this post is how old? stay out of this forum, if you want to flame like a child, go be a jedi or whatever.

sorry this post isjust rude. Why should ana-mo-cara stay out of this fourm because he's an armoursmith smuggler and your a true smuggler "Triple Threat?" How is a armour/weapon/dancer smuggler got any less right to be in this fourm than a pistoleer smuggler? Should we all just spend our skill points on master smuggler and leave the rest free in the air. That is a true smuggler no?

Personaly I like ana-mo-cara he makes some good posts, contributions and gets me thinking. There's a lot of things that he says that goes against the grain. However they are better than the hundread and one ideas that are all the same and have been discussed over and over. I didn't even think of the 2/3 types of damage covered till he just mentioned it. That would give pistoleers a huge edge after the CURB.

If they are going to upgrade the entire combat system and balance it, they should incorporate dual wield now so a later implementation doesn't throw the system out of balance. Come on, they upgrade the combat system and leave out something like this?

This is not a Smuggler issue. Do not assume becasue you ar a Smuggle/pistoleer/whatever, that we all are. At this time I hate pistols. I have used my pistol once in over 6 months and do not care to use it. The Cu would hav eto make some major changes to force me to ever pick up any pistol skills other than required for Smuggler.

So it is only a pistoleers issue and not a (Smugglers really).

Um, dude, calm down. There are a lot of Triple Threats on this Forum, and yeah, so it's not a Smuggler issue per se. Still, by the amount of folks in here talking about their DE-10's, I thought they might like to see it.

Like I said, chill. It's not like a weaponsmith never posted here

It has nothing to do with you being a weaponsmith. You make an assumptions inyour post that just becasue We are Smugglers we use pistols, want to use pistols, or are a "triple threat". Pistols are a good back up when I want to get a quick ranged attack in, but are usually a last resort. IMO perfect for a smuggler. But as I said, I do not see myself ever going up the pistols line even after the CU.

To do any damage and to be effective an any sort of combat I was forced to take master TK skills. But when I want to discuss VK's I go to the TK forum. I do not discuss it here.

Just because we wont be able to hold two pistols for now, it doesn't mean Smugglers wont be able to have fun. Hopefully come the revamp, Smugglers will finally get some much-needed content and we'll for once be able to have fun with our profession.

While dual-wielding weapons would be cool, it's not dire to the Smuggler profession. Lets get some more important things to Smugglers first (smuggling, ect.) and then add the cherry to the top later.

Lets think logically if you did give pistoleers two pistols. Well you would have to give every profession the double over. I personally would fear

a bh getting two llcs. The damage would be awful. Plus you have to totally rewrite accuracy codes. You would defeat the rock paper scissors

system. You would have to decide how specials were applied and so on. A lot of work for what would end up being cosmetic.

PS. The best gunslingers of all time were not dual weilders. No matter what the movies tell you. Its far simper to pull one weapon and be

precise then to pull two pistols and hipshot. Two gun users are spray and pray. The guy that pulls out one gun and aims usually wins. Just

an observation.

Actually, I wasn't hoping for double damage. What I would really like is a 50% speed boost, maybe. That and being able to do 2 different types of damage at a time. This is actually a very easy way to balance Pistoleer to other profs.

Also, Accuracy mods would obviously come into play, as no one in their right mind could believe that you can shoot 2 pistols, fast, AND be seriously accurate. Also, 2 Pistols weighing approx. 5-10 pounds each are extremely easy to hold at once. However, it doesn't really make sense at all to hold 2 LLCs or Flamers at the same time. seeing as so many Smugglers use pistols at least some of the time, I think that many would like to see this. However, just a personal note. I believe that Dual Wield should apply to the profs that naturally fit for it. This would include Pistoleer & Fencer, and I don't really see how any other prof would fit such.

Although I haven't been in any pistol fights myself (in RL) I believe a Master Pistoleer would be a little bit more than "spray and pray", as they are a Master with their weapon.

Just another of my 2¢, which I guess takes me up to something like $1.50

I find it interesting that the developers of this game are a bunch of @#$!, ##$, @%%#s who do nothing but ##^#$# because

they don't fall all over themselves to implement every individual's personal preferences. Have some spice and relax. Just

because they aren't leaping to code your suggestions doesn't mean that they @^$$#@.

On the other hand, why should you let reason interfere with your desire to whine and moan.

I think if dual weapons ever do make it in, I imagine it will probably work more like TIEInterceptors and the X-Wing. Meaning that you'll have one weapon, but it will show you holding two (probably with an option if you want to hold one or two). Then both fire when you're fighting, but they all do the same damage, they just look like you're firing two weapons.
This would also make it easier for the enhancements, bonuses, specials, ect. for they'd all stay the same.

Ok, I get it, I know I made an ass out of myself. However I did apologize, and earlier in the thread I acknowledged (with grace I thought) that I was wrong to post it here. If you want to continue to dislike me, that's cool, I don't need an anonymous person from halfway across the country to like me. However, I do ask that you cut me a little slack. I (and I think we all have) posted some things hastily and without thinking.

well, I doubt they'll add dual wield to the game AFTER the CU, since the whole reason for the CU is them adding new things to combat, which in turn continued to unbalance it. And really, yes, dual wield is cool, but traditionally, dual wield is a rogue's alternative to carrying an offhand buckler, and since we don't exactly have offhand defense weapons, or offhand anything for that matter, dual wield = unbalance.

Yeah, good point. I have to admit (and no one noticed this yet LOL j/k) I didn't really think this through too much when I asked the question/posted my opinion. As cool as it would be, it's not really gonna help us too much.
