Thread: New loot slicing requirements

Not sure if you can find this out without the component, but can someone with Slicing IV or below do the level 4 slice if they have the looted part, or do they have to be Master Smuggler?
Each level of slice adds to the customisation total, only Master smugglers can 100% customise. Different slices require a different number of customisation points. To get up to the 4th level in speed requires 100 customisation, as does getting maximum critical chance, However, maximum damage is (aparently) only 60 which somone with only slicing 4 could get (probably even slicing 3) - however a master could then invest 40 points in another type of slice in the weapon to bring it up to 100
with this new system its all about how you invest those points up to 100

Alrighty, so all those people saying that being a Master Smuggler was still worthless are incorrect. The customization points are just like experimentation points in crafting professions. Being a Master Smuggler *will* make a weapon or armor piece better than if you're Slicing IV or below. As you said, A Slicing IV person could do all four levels of damage, but they're done. A Master Smuggler could go further and add some speed or critical hit slices, or any increased combination of the three.

Yep, Master smuggler is FAR from worthless. Also, unlike experimentation, the 100% doesnt need to be applied at once. but to go over a certain % you have to be a certain level of smuggler.
Novice 5%, Slicing I 15%, Slicing II 30%, SlicingIII 50%, Slicing IV 75%, Master 100%

looted items to slice is stupid. why cant we craft them like every other prof. with HQ resources with smuggler exp. and all that. this is going to make the high end slicing cost a fortune.
Yeah, Master Smugglers will rake in the credits... Something wrong with that?
Only that everyone playingSWG will be a Master Smuggler. We have the new slicing system, new smuggling content in the pipeline and we're the best support profession by a mile.
I preferred it when we were grossly neglected ![]()

You think people will pay a high end charge for a minial slice?

Can I have your stuff?

With this new slicing system how much would go about charging these slices. By per slice or how many custumaztion points are used? Or is there a new way to charge these slices?
I'm planning on charging a base slice fee, plus a component fee, based on the component used. If they provide their own components, then I charge the base slice fee.

By how much trouble the customer is and how many questions they ask. Basically IF I slice at all I'll charge on an inverse scale to how much fun I'm having.
