Well some of us dont like it, some of us are putting up with it and well someof us are getting darn rich from it. I have made about 5 million credits from slicing this weekend....if you have not really gotten into it yet give it a try.

Love it or hate it...this has been a money spinner!! (and i kinda feel naughty doin it, lol!)

Enough for beer and pie for all

As for the problem of explaining issues to customers, the answer is easy...send yourself a customised email with all of the relevant info on it, including types of slice, customisation points and costs per slice. Pretty painless actually, AND because you have taken the trouble to send them something and add to their understanding of the game they a) become more willing to give you their hard earned cash b) want to come back to you and give you even more cash! And lets face it, in terms of smuggler content, every smuggler wants to be rich. (I would like to credit a great smuggling friend - Erson on Chimaera - for sharing his email with me, to which i then customised - thanks for doin all the work!)

Could you post a template of this email that you're using? Sansthe pricing of course

Ive got a char thats a WS and spent ages explaining the new system.

Ive also spent ages explaining it to smugglers too.

Ive been providing the stuff too as I cant possibly expect a Smugler to provide the bit required for slice now.

I am undecided whether i like the new system or not. Heard rumours of hard caps being lower that the pre-made caps. Seen a weapon slice to 4% exactly at 4% max damage, 4% min damage - the level 3 slice however wasnt 8% , if it had, i would have hit cap.

I think its unfortunate that Smuglers have been reduced to dispensing loot BUT equalily I think it would be unfair if it made the effort in WS redundant.

Try buying +100 damage krayt tissues for 400k lol.

As for not knowing what your slices get you, that means you can't do simple math.

If you have a weapon that is say 20 damage away from a hardcap, then slice it one damage slice ( i charge 25k ) then you can get a lvl 1 speed slice, ( another 25k ) and maybe finish it off with a lvl 2 speed ( 50-75k ) and a crit slice maybe ( 25k ). So... you get a hard capped weapon, three good slices for 150k or so.

If you go to a smuggler for a 400k damage slice with a damage capped weapon, well, you're a moron.

So my advice is give the new system a little whirl, before loot drops increase. Go get rich

I sliced for nearly two years. The new systems is no more interesting than the old.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I had always thought that over the last year while the slicing revamp was being discussed that the whole point was to make it more interesting than choosing between the blue wire or the red wire in a dialogue box.

Now it's choosing between speed or damage in a dialogue box, with a few extra confirmation screens added afterwards for Super Special Clicky FuN! (yes, with a capital N)

Like George W. Bush's banner proclaimed: "Mission Accomplished"

as far as crafted weapons are concerned you would never do a damge slice

a good ws will put everything into cappingdam and making sac as low as possible then when u do a teir 4 speed slice you DO get an uber weapon

small excamples

featherwieght pistol speed 2.2

max dam 950

ebdps 345

speed sliced to

speed 1.6

dam 950

ebdps 379

second feather pistol

speed 1.93

dam 966

ebdps 349

speed sliced to

speed 1.4

dam 966

ebdps 395

as far as weapons go U WANT A SPEED SLICE

alternitive being looted weapons

then u have to make the call if u have a looted weapon with fast speed and low dam THEN u might want a dammage slice

but chances are even a good not ubar but good weapon will damage cap b4 the final slice making it worthless
