Personally, my problem with the way they have our so called "smuggling" ability implemented is that it doesn't require us to do a single thing other than /invite and /follow. Give me a crate of illegal stuff and somewhere to take it. Make it challenging in one way or another. I agree with ya 100% on that. It isn't the greatest, but it is at least something to do if they pay ya well enough. It sure as heck better not be as intense as it gets or it would be a serious disappointment.
Scans seem a LOT more frequent now as a pistoleer/doc on leave in our guild found out last night. She was failing left and right just trying to travel through Theed a couple times. She def is not the stronger fighting type in her limited combat experience, so found it a welcome relief when traveling with another one of our smugglers to get to her destinations.
Here's hoping we do get better options than this, but until then, at least some of us will get to make use of that evasion bonus. Made 150k last night for 12 mins worth of work taking a merchant through Bestine because he had already been killed twice being a non-combat rebel. On top of 2.4mil in faction sales and an occasional slice. Was a pretty productive night 
Oh yeah, don't think it was just your posts that are gone man, looks like the entire thread is gone. Woulda been stupid if they nuked your post after seeing some of the others.

Interestingly, this is kinda canon.
We never see Han smuggle any contraband, we know for sure that he's been caught trying it, but we do know he's prepared to escort two droids, an old man and a kid.
