Told you what I would do in that situation. I've got better things to do then sit there for an hour hoping they go away. I take the death and reclone. Within 30 seconds, I'm back on my way in the game. If their ego on dying is so bad, then that's their problem. Deal with the consequences.

You mistook what I meant, sorry. I meant to say that is you decide to feign while in PvP, you put yourself in the postion to be camped in the 1st place.

It's griefing, regardless of what Lord-Maximus tries to say. There are special actions that change posture of a feigned smuggler to standing and removes the feign status. From the picture there, they had no less then two people that could have done that move and popped him up. There are also a hundred other things they could have been doing other then gang killing a single smuggler. They were just killing his ham and armor for "fun".

On that note, feign in PVP should only be used as an absolute last resort because retards like that can and WILL grief you. You are better off taking the incap, then using force of will (assuming you are a TKA).

are you even a smuggler? if so you would know that we don't lose 45fp on death.

Sounds pretty clear to me. "Anyone" camping "anyone". Applies to BH/Jedi and "Anyone"/Smuggler.

Why not take a level in Scout, make some tents, and sell them to the people camping you. Might as well make some money =)

SO what do you lose? The guy is apparently worried over losing his FPs. I lose 45 FPs when I die in Factional related fights

Didn't say that it wasn't grieving, but if somebody does something that foul in PvP to avoid the death loss, then suck it up and deal with the consequences that are about to follow.

ps. On a personal note, I have not or partaken in any griefing of a FD smugglar. Just wanted to make that clear right up front.

That is an interesting point, maybe Caylin canfind out what the dev's think about how this relates to us using FD in a PVP situation.Is it grief or the risk we run for FD in PVP?

Well, I put another post up on this issue. It never does any good to let them forget

I gave examples of how it was being abused. Not just by griefing but by the BH'ers and Jedi who make camping almost necessary to finish the job.

Then asked how they were going to address this without kicking players who actually want to besmugglers in the teeth.

so you are not a smuggler. and much like the jedi catching crap cause some can self rez the smugglers are going to catch it because of an ability that no else has.

<sarcasrm>

you know what i don't like. I don't like dancers and musicians being the only ones that can mind buff. i also don't like docs being the only ones buffing the rest. and what about ID's? why should they be the only ones that can do stat migrations? I also want to be certified with scatter and launcher pistols. While we are on the subject I want the BH flame shot too. And a flamethrower cert.

</sarcasrm>

the devs gave us the ability to FD we should use it at anytime we want to. don't come here trolling saying that camping an FD'd smuggler is ok because it isn't. The tree is called DIRTY FIGHTING for a reason.

In one on one events...dont even think about it.

In group situations, it can come in handy.

They'll just tell him that USING FD in pvp is considered griefing to the attacker.

Well, y'know, there's kinda something to that -- FD doesn't end combat, so the other guy's basically stuck posing to music until the smuggler gets up. No calling pets/droids/vehicles, no shuttle transport, no crafting, no pulling items from crates, no trading... his only options, really, are to keep pounding on the smuggler, pick another fight, or go somewhere and log.

FD should end combat, and somebody who's feigning shouldn't have an "attack" option when radial'ed, just "examine" (or "drag" for that matter)
