I can tell I'm not going to win any popularity contests for admitting this, but I'm Master Smuggler / Pistoleer and 0400 sabers.
Back before the curb, when they released the docs that basically said the old triple master would soon be impossible, I started kicking around ideas. I eventually settled on getting either the pistols branch or investigation from BH. I figured it would be an interesting diversion to be able to hunt marks.
Then I realized for the same SP investment, I could realize a dream I've had since I started. To be a mark.
As for outdamaging pistols with one tier of sabers, it's not the case. Even with a level 4 saber and decent pearls, I'm better off with the pistol. Not to mention the pitiful force bar I have. I rarely if ever even equip it, and then it's only to quickly apply armor break and switch back. If they ever add smuggling missions, I might respec to get cloak... just so I have another way of slipping past patrols.
