Thread: Where was it stated we would get to slice ship parts in Jump to Lightspeed?

It was stated in an article on IGN Vault, but I now get a 404 when I try and pull it up. It was in an article, not an official dev post. It said "you will be able to illegally modify your ship", and I think it even said smugglers can slice.....
But things change.

I'd say give them another year or so after jtl comes out, be nice to get one revamp out of the way before other stuff is added. What's the point of slicing ship parts if you can't control how good they are going to turn out?

If I remember correctly, I think I remember one dev saying that you could slice components while in flight, at a slight cost to condition of the components sliced.
Don't take that as gospel.

I think I saw that. Go ahead and post the link, I'll set my browser to work offline, and it'll pick the saved data up off my hard drive, instead of the actual site. 
For those of you who've already tried viewing it without working offline, you've probably lost it, as the computer updated it to the 404 page.

Yes, I'm aware you said it has a 404 error. I would like the link so I can ask the admins of IGN Vault what happened to the article, if they pulled it for misinformation, etc...
Also as the poster just above me stated, it could be cached on my system, or it could be cached through Google, or one of the many other caching systems.
Please post the link.
