I hadn't heard that part. From what I understand, being able to use recon armor while doing BH stuff for a BH/Smuggler or BH/Pistoleer will be a big part of how BHs do their thing post-curb, since lightsabres are energy weapons and recon armor has bonuses against energy weapons.
For me, the battle armor would be more for RP stuff anyway. I'd be sacrificing some additional pistol mods to get it, though, and I'm not sure I want to do that.
It is certain, however, that since my mitigation for the battle armor won't be as good as that of my recon armor, I will definitely be less effective. - yep that does make more sense, Im still a little lost on exactly how armor will work but still peeved mainly because Im not certed for any of the armor I use. /shrug

oh and I hate the "look" of all the recon armor (marine armor, just to name one...come on).

yeah, I sometimes forget how good we imps have it... all our new gear is so cool. There are so many great examples of Rebel armor in RPG sources (both old and new) that I'm suprised the devs didn't borrow from them. Maybe it was a copyright thing. If you're a Mon Cal, the Rebel marine gear looks cool. And I hear that helmetless it's not so bad... but what happens when you get shot in the head?

Yeah, doesn't that Rebel armor just not look good at all? Renn will be sporting nice Black Ubese, as it looks rather decent, though the helmet is pretty ugly. I may use a Mabari helmet with the rest of the Ubese if that doesn't end up looking totally crappy too.

tleh, if looks are important you can check any one of several template threads to see my proposed template with the ability to wear two types of armor at a master level and the third type with 20% mitigation to all three reductions. ms/mbh/novice carb.

While my "Street Armor" will not give full protection it will at least look OK, Over all Im not very happy about this not happy at all.

I've made quite a decent combo from using rebel marine biceps, boots and leggins plus Tantel helmet and chest peice, and then Ubese bracers and Comp gloves (or Comp bracers but it looks to bulky). ITs quite a sight when you get the colours matched correctly.
Makes me look like a real smuggler at times.

Is marabi armor the Zam Wessle gear from Episode II? I vaguely remember seeing such things in the early days of the game.
I personally really dig Ubese. But, even as a kid, my favorite "bounty hunter" was princess liea in her ubese disguise. I actually need to get a new set of Ubese made... I thrashed my ubese jacket grinding novice TK.
And much props for the introduction of Scout Armor! I can't wait.
Ever since the Rebels took over all the planets on my server (*cry*) I've been tempted to go on leave all the time. But, I've found that it's tons of fun to be 'running from the Man.' And it gives me a use for my Neutron Pixie... yikes!
Of course, I'd rather BE the Man that folks are runnin' from... but that's for another forum.

Zam Wessle? was that the BH who put the centreped type creatires into Padme's apartment? if so then Yes thats the armour that the changling BH was wearing just before Jango shot it.

Mabari... bulky gloves, that halfskirt pants, a steel baseballcap andI don't even have words for the chestpiece... the boots are the only nice looking
Ubese... the jacket is either to big for a jacket how I like them, or to short for a coat, the helmet... ehm no... just no, the gloves are ok, the pants look good, if there would be a bigger color range...
Rebel... it is good ifI am on duty (without helmet) but I am often on leave...
Scout Trooper... no, I wont switch sides for just that.
The new and unknown quest armour... I hope it looks awesome...
