Yes, this has bothered me as well. As it stands now you're going to have a very tought time getting xp without getting either BH or pistoleer as a complimentary profession. Come to think of it, Bounty Hunters have the exact same problem when it comes to their carbine tree. They get nothing until the fourth box. At least they got a Lightning Rifle last patch. I wouldn't mind something in our novice box.
