Thread: Is smuggler worth it?

If smuggler is indeed a combat profession, then we're probably one of the weakest. Bounty Hunters and Commandos can whoop us in combat. I'd rather it just be called a "hybrid" profession and leave it at that.

No you won't be able to solo juvenile Krayts with MSmuggler...unless you enjoy the thought of wasting 2 hours of your time doing so. If you want crowd control over damage, then MS is going to be a better choice than MBH. If you want to actually be effective in smaller numbers, stick with MBH.


I repeat: You won't be able to solo Krayts as your damage is going to be reduced too much. Even a high quality Krayt hand cannon w/ Reckless shot won't save you.

I've been a Master Smuggler for two years...I just cancelled my account because of it.

My template is master smuggler/master pistols with rifle's 4000 and commando 0300, the part of my template which consistently lets me down is the smuggler part, i dont drop it because i want to see smuggler actualy make sense someday and i always enjoyed the thought of being a smuggler and you never know someday i will be a smuggler at the moment im a im a bi-lingual, slicing, drug addict with nothing to do.

if you want to solo krayt keep doc and get master swords w/ some pike 0-0-4-0 but check swordsman forums.

Depending on your complimentary professions, you'll be able to solo juveys, higher ones if you're patient and don't kite them too far (they'll reset). I'm smuggler/pistoleer, commando 4404...and I can solo all of em but ancients, and none of my gear is extraordinary.


the problem I run into, and the reason I stopped soloing them...are kill stealers...I can't outdamage them.


the main thing you have to realize...smuggler isn't a damagedealer, tanker, etc. As Nicolas_Frost said, smuggler is about them not soloing you.


Although smugglers have a certain appeal to them. Frosted mini-wheats uses a certain smuggler, and a quote of his on their boxes...out of all the characters in starwars, they chose a smuggler. there's a message there
