I have a sappy story about "my best slice ever".

I was a bit of a late-comer and started playing the game in September. On my first day, this guy just noticed that I was a noob and helped me out. He bought a new CDEF pistol and a scout blaster off of the bazaar for me. Then he went and found a smuggler to slice them for me. He just handed these to me. Then he ran a few destroy missions with me, making sure I was able to get some shots in to get experience. When I made novice smuggler, I emailed him to let him know, and he referred me to master smugglers on the server that answered some questions for me.

About a week ago, I got a tell from him asking me if I was still a master smuggler. I told him yes, and he said he needed somebody he could trust to slice a gun for him. He met me in Theed and gave me a krayt carbine. I got a 21% speed slice on it. He just "chalked it up to the slice gods", but I could tell he was very disappointed. Yesterday, he sent me another tell to ask for a slice. He had 2 more krayt carbines. The first one got a 32% damage slice. I gave him the biggest grin. I've never seen anybody so happy. The second one got a speed slice, but he didn't care. He told me he paid 2 million each for them. He gave me 25k, which I tipped back saying I couldn't take money from him, but he insisted I take something and give me back 10k of it. I was just glad to see him happy and felt like I finally paid him back for the help he'd given me on my first day in the game.

That 32% damage slice was better than the dozen or so 35% damage slices I've had since making master, better than the 5 or so 45% encumbrance slices I've had on armor pieces, and it was even better than the 40% encumbrance slice I got on a helmet just 10 minutes later.

I've hit the caps on all types of slices (45% armor encumbrance, 35% on everything else), and while I don't often get the slices that high, I've hit the caps very many times. Listening to the many people who have never sliced that high, it sounds like I've just been lucky, because I don't team up with a Weaponsmith, I haven't done very much slicing since becoming a Master,and I have probably only sliced about 50 items in the past two or three months.

Half of those came today, when I started wearing my tag out in public again. (My tag was back on asa test to see if anybody was worried about contraband scans and if they'd seek me out for grouping purposes. Nobody asked.)At one point today,a guy brought me 6 weapons to slice. Of the 6, I had speed slices of 35, 33, and 31 percent. The problem was that they were rifles, and he was a Master Rifleman, and those slices didn't do him any good whatsoever (I salvaged thebatch with a 28% damage slice on the last one).

The universe conspires against our success in strange ways...

I've yet to hit the cap on weapon slicing, but I did have my best armor slicing run a while back. Was slicing someone's ubese set and every slice was over 40% enc (the best being two 44%'s), the client was as happy as can be and I figured I must be on my best streak of slicing luck yet..

...so pulled my own ubese suit out of the bank and proceeded to get not a single slice over 25% (most of em effect to) *grumbles*

Hit max slices about a dozen times. But the most special slices were a 33% speed slice on a Krayt Wookie Bowcaster and a 42% encumberance slice on a Stun Composite helmet that cost a guy like 400k. Needless to say I was his favorite Smuggler.

This guy comes up to me and askes me to slice his suit. I say fine and give him my price quote. He says fine and hands it to me.

I notice that this thing is DAMAGED. Some pieces are 4032 / 32428 etc. I even saw two pices at 0 percent.

Are you sure you want this sliced?

Yes, of course I am.

Every slice was encumberace...helm was 44 percent...lowest sliced was 29 percent.

Ah well..the gods are Cruel.

I got a tell from a non-regular (always scary for me, you never know which one is gonna be an idiot) asking if I could slice a weapon for him. He tells me its a 'very special piece' and that he'll pay well. I immediately asked him if he was aware that slicing was random. He assured me that he understood and was hoping the best.

I meet him in theed starport and he hands me a Nightsister vibrolance with 3.6 speed and 650 damage. I asked him if he was sure it wasnt sliced, but he swore he just looted it. I cross my fingers and toes, hoping that I hadn't done anything to offend the server gods recently, and clip away at the wires. BAM, 33 percent damage. Without saying a word I hand it back to him, all the while hes jumping up and down goin 'whatdja get whatdja get??' The moment I put it in the trade window he flipped out, dropped 50k in the trade window, and nearly passed out with having an insanely fast 865 damage lance in his inventory. I still feel good about that.

When it comes to statistics, I suppose because I do a LOT of slicing I get to see more numbers, and I max out probably every 50 slices. Feels good.

hehe i think my favourite slice ever was on this incredible krayt republic blaster lol. The WS went crazy when i told him i got 34% dmg on it! lol i liked it so much that i just bought it off him for 2 mill ... and then sold it to someone else a month later for 8 mill

My best ever was a damage slice on my own pistol for 30% and best armor was 38% enc. I always charge flat 2.5k, or 20k for a set of armor or 50k for a crate of weps.

My best slice was a 44% Ubese Helm, always in my inventory( I have hit 45% but not on a helmet). And the worst slice was a 18% speed slice on and Ackly Gaffi I was really sorry for that wookiee .

Hehe, I hate when that happens. Guy brings you an uber damage weapon with the chance of being one of the best on the server, barring you get a good damage slice. THAT is when the server gods toy with you.....

Hehe I tend to get a alot of 35% speed slices, only 1 35% dmg so far (I've been a master smuggler for 2 weeks now). It was on my geno blaster tho, so I was very pleased to get it! My buddy got a pretty good one too that I gave him..a 33% dmg on a krayt geno.
