This was a droid module that we suggested that was deemed unbalanced, but seems perfectly Star-Warsy and could be balanced perfectly.

We weren't asking for the MAX slice to be increased, just the minimum. So, if you had a droid with one of these modules out (passive, much like someone would use a droid crafting or medical station), your minimum would be 20% instead of 15%.

The biggest reason I don't really do public slicing is because I hate when someone hands me a 100K or more weapon and I get a 16% speed slice I feel like crap even though there was nothing I could do about it.

If they could add some function to slicing, give us a new uber-spice, and beef up/add a combat move or two, Smuggler would at least be servicable until whatever the revamp brings.

1. Do something about Master Smuggler - it is currently an empty box. At least write in the slice bonus that already exists but is undocumented, and add SOMETHING - a new spice (can't be awfully difficult), a decent bonus to combat, ANYTHING.

2. Give us a boost to one or more combat moves - smugglers are pittiful in combat, and you can't ask us to suffer for another six months gimped like this.

3. Implement any-planet to any-planet smuggler tickets. Crossing from, say,Lok to Dantooine is becoming a nightmare - flying from Lok to Naboo to Corellia to Dantooine - kill two birds with one stone here and satisfy those who hate starship transfers until they can fly themselves in JTL while giving smugglers something valuable to sell.

Sounds good to me.

They don't need to do anything. I gave up. Dropped smuggler for good today.

I'll take a bone too. Since even communication is useless, I want SOMETHING to tide us over. I'm going to try to organize a REAL "Feign-In" Protest NEXT FRIDAY NIGHT on Naritus. I'm compiling a list of names and will send out emails to those people in the next few days. All people have to do is show up and Feign. We had a little one going tonight. If we can get enough people I hope it will push it over the edge, and we can have a little *something* to make us happy. There's a million things they can do to help us out. They should implement something that's ready to to go and easy to do that would have been right on the brink of uploading on one of the previous revamp attempts.

While a few minor fixes would be welcome, the only thing that will placate me is communication. The bridges that have been burned can only be rebuilt through an open dialogue with us. I'm talking about a developer--not a mouthpiece, but an actual developer--coming here weekly and saying, "We've read the thousand or so pages you've submitted and here are things we like and don't like. This is where we see the profession going and how we're going to do that." By starting now, they can actually repair some of the damage they've done by the time our revamp comes in December or so.

Again, this is correct.

However, we have gotten the communication - no revamp until after space.

It's clear they aren't even going to begin looking at this until then.

People keep saying, "communication", but what is left to say? Should JustG come in here every day, make a new post saying "Smuggler Update : Still not happening until space?"

Yes, it's totally clear (just as it was with Combat Droid Proposals) that the Dev team either has a sadistic sense of humor or simply views us as students to be given busy work and kept occupied while at school.

Communication has gotten worse and not better since we got an "assistant" community manager and the correspondents were put in as an additional barrier to communication, and the only time we see the actual community manager is when he bumps/dev tracks GarVa's Galactic Homeshow or posts Tuesday Tips(which really makes me wonder how one can manage a community without interacting with it...).

This is all pretty much fact - and we deal with it or quit.

Again, I'm wondering what could help people "deal" with it better.

But I'm sure more people will just reply and say "Communication damnit!" - when we just got it. We got it way too late, and way too patronizing, but asking them to repeat it over and over isn't going to change the fact that the revamp ain't happening.

Communication entails more than just spewing a bunch of garbage about being overworked and they'll get to us when the time is right. Communication is not a single lackey gracing us with his presence in these forums to request yet another 'vision' document.

The developers must come here and 'communicate' their vision to us. We thendiscuss the ideas while they monitor and interject thoughts, constraints, limitations, and further guidance. Then, when it comes time for the revamp, we're all on the same sheet of music and have a mutualunderstanding of where we're going.

Of course, since I highly doubt this is how it works in the SOE Austin offices where they are paid to do it, I have no hope of it happening here, which is why I hold out zero hope that a worthwhile revamp will happen.

1. Remove the smuggler forums until Jtl arrives since we are now a 'space profession' we shouldn't even exist yet right? They make it sound like ground based smuggling is unheard of. I mean afterall moonshiners during prohibition weren't true smugglers because they didn't wait for jtl. (yea, that's sarcasm)

I think they are calling us more of a space profession because they would have to piss off the player base by making things illegal that they have had for 'free' since launch. So instead of doing it 'right' for a profession that never got fully tested yet was released with the 'originial game' (which is what really slammed the door on us ever getting ground based smuggling in the first place) they are going to attempt to add it in the se since there is no 'freebies' to use as precedent in space if the players whine. (yea, smugglers got cornholed for another 30 bucks if they ever want to do what their title says)

Besides it has been made painfully obvious by the multiple requests for revamp docs that they don't read the ones already done. And to make matters worse we have been labled as 'more of a space profession' yet they are hush hush about how that will impact us (check out the 19 questiosn thread) so how in the hell can we give ideas when we don't even know how space will work? Anyone else find the irony here? The answer is we can't until jtl is done and we can see first hand how the system works.

ALot of professions in this game need some serious help as soon as possible but SMUGGLERS are the only profession in this game who does not do what their TITLE says. We aren't bug ridden like some of the others. We are just friggin palceholders for crappy buffs, gcw perks, pistoleer specials, and item modifications with a name that doesn't fit our skill sets until jtl and maybe not even then.

2. Put a disclaimer system message up when a player trains the novice smuggler box. Let them know it's a space profession so it isn't finished, hasn't been finished since beta, and won't be given any attention except for nerfs until se comes out and the se bugs are squashed a year later. Least a little truth in advertising would be nice for a change.

Han Solo my ass, this game may say star wars but I haven't spotted a smuggler yet have you?
