Acutally, schematics for player crafted pie can be had by studying something called a "cookbook." No artisan or chef skill points required; just the ability to follow simple directions. They taste MUCH better than vendor sold pies found in the freezing units of said vendors.
Oh believe me - spending some skill points in the chef tree will REALLY enhance the pie's attributes, attributes like "Not Burnt" or "Tastes not Like what the dog coughed up", etc.
I don't want to get into details - but with no skills a pie can go very horribly wrong.
Cheers

Mother of god: not a pie ingredient, sorry... more of an expletive. Super Troopers reference... sorry.
Almost time for lunch... hmmmm...

Oh, I agree. I took some novice "chef" back in high school and it was a riot. I had 3 buddies in my "kitchen" and were the biggest cut-ups in the class. But we got A's and always turned out good food because we learned the ONE thing the teacher wanted us to know: "read and follow the RECIPE. Then you can experiment." After 32 years I can still turn out good basic cooking and make just about anything for which a written recipe (schematic) exists. Lots of women I know can't do that.
I'm a good cook myself, just can't bake to save my life. Dunno why the difference, but low and behold... I suck.
My favourite dish to make is probably BBQ Ribs with my custom mild/hot BBQ Sauce or my BBQ Chicken breast with sweet&sour hot-sauce on a bed of rice, peppers, and mozzarella cheese lightly sprinkled on top. Served either dish with a side of spinach or (spring-leaf) salad topped with a tangy rasperry vinagrette dressing.
Yummy. Now I'm hungry. Damnit.
There are two things I have failed at cooking... fried chicken and cookies.
I think I'm too inattentive for either of them. Cookies it seems like there's this tiny window of opportunity where you have to get them out of the oven or they're burnt. Same with the chicken. I like things that I can set to cooking and then walk away for a while. Maybe I have ADD or something.

I went to 3 supermarkets last night trying to look for some pie.
ALL THREE HAD NONE.
It would seems that word has spread about the goodness of pie beyond these forums and spread into the real world. Now, thanks to that, I can't get any damn pie.
No apple, no cherry, no strawberry-rhubarb, not even... OREO.
/faints
*thud*
Damn it. Not again.

Strange idea of pies. Personally i think you cant go wrong with a nice Beef & Onion, Steak and Ale or Chicken & Veg pie myself.
I assume in some distant part of the world pie is a desert rather than and main course
Wait....there isa pie made of steak and ale????
PIE TRULY IS THE KING OF FOODS!!!!!
Now if someone could explain what a "fish and finger pie" is, I'd appreciate it.
(I've rediscovered my beatles mp3's...)
