I assume that all the armor stats and damages have been finalized in the TC then. Well, that blows. I guess.... wait.

No? You mean the stats can still change?

But weren't there all sorts of rants and whines that there was no real difference in armor and therefore toons?

Ahh... I guess many of these people are doing what we would expect: knee-jerk reacting to aspects of the CU that are still in development. Funny about that. Guess they've already decided that the different specials from the different professions won't make any difference either.

Maybe it'd be best to see what actually goes live. Even better, let's see what the live system is like in the beginning of July when it has been debugged and tweeked further. Of course, that isn't as much fun to post about on the forums.

Think about this...when live hits you will be at max lvl if you have used all your skill points. Nothing at max lvl should be able to 1 hit you. As far as noobs are concerned they will have to find groups to lvl, and it might take a little longer...that's how it should be...not master a profession in less than 3 days.

Say you are lvl 40 and you group with a lvl 3. A lvl 40 mob will not 1 hit the lvl 3 player because he is grouped with you. This system is pushing us to group. What is wrong with that?

The only real problem is that operating outside the "box" now is going to be a lot less possible. That might seriously limit fun. ORRRR it might discourage people who go out and solo Krayts for a living too...

now if you're bad enough to solo Krayts or other ridiculously hard critters it'll MEAN something, and you won't do it for the XP.

I'm not concerned because I'm worried about getting hurt myself. I don't like it because it just doesn't make sense. Level-Based combat is totally anti-everything that SWG has been up until now.

Honestly, bugs and all, I like the CU, as long as they take out the level damage modifiers. They just don't make sense at all to me, and to a LOT of people too. Also, how does it at all make sense that the Lvl 3 guy should live from a hit from a level 40 mob? I'm not saying that he should be hit with the full damage modifier (which at that difference, he'd get hit for lie 1 bajillion pts damage) but a level 100 NS should hit everyone for the same damage. My toons skills and armor should decide how much damage I take, not having my level decide that the mob doesn't hit me as hard.

I'm willing to wait and se how this all comes out in live.. but yeah i agree with the folks who say it makes no sense... I've never really heard of anything like this... if it hit you harder because you dont have damage mitigation or defense skills at lower levels i would buy into that, but a multiplier on top of that seems silly. I mean you are already weaker than the thing right, you already lack the level of special abilities one ought to have to fight it.. cant seem to wrap my mind around why you would want to throw a modifier on top of that...

And just for the record i generally dont complain..er except for complaining about all the complaining that goes on... but i just dont get this... 'course i havent played it yet and i am not a big time power gamer either so i am used to getting killed. On the other hand i am an rp er and it would be nice if you could rp reckless daring in combat without being guaranteed to get slaughtered..

thats my two cents anyway

Dont we look at the HAM now if we come across a mob you have never battled before? It's the same thing. The amount of HAM was like the lvl of the mob. I hope they all quit, I'm so sick of whiners. It's because of whiners that SWG is in the state it's in. I remember there was a time when we had to group. Then the whiners start complaining...

While I'm on a rantpage...

Some of you people have made me hate Han Solo, "Why cant we get the DL44, Han Solo had it...this isnt Star Wars, etc, etc. Gah! Get a grip...Han obvisouly mastered two professions; MP and MS...do that if you want a DL44 so bad. I hate you all!

But Han used the black DL44, which you get back in the Marksman Pistols line, so it's not going to be very good. Master Pistoleers get the metal one. I'm going to be a Master Pistoleer, but who wants the icky metal one? I want the black one like Han had and make it a good 'un!
