I'm not tired of smuggler and hey, some day down the road they may fix it and make it viable. I'm not a grinder, I'm not a 1337 combat d00d, I'm not a PvPer, I'm not a role player. I admit I come online mostly to socialize. I'm enjoying my current character combo of smuggler/tailor. I have played since early August 2003 and what I have always done is just simply switch my template when I get bored. I've tried entertaining, I've tried PvP 1337 d00d, I've been a mayor, I've crafted, I've hunted and killed for organic resources, I've bounty hunted.
If you get bored of smuggler, don't be a smuggler, try something else. There are a ton of paths out there. Don't think small, do a drastic change. Become an musician, or a merchant, something else. There are so many combinations to work out to find something that you enjoy and are willing to log on to play. After a year, I'm at that point now. Sure smuggler doesn't do much, but I get to interact with people slicing, and the pistol stuff compliments my 0040 in pistoleer.
The game is about fun. If you can't change your gameplay to have fun, then the game itself is what is not fun for you, not just smuggler. In that case, donate your sutff to the needy and find something else to play. Never be unhappy playing a game. This is supposed to be fun.

it was a joke though, i have no idea how the members act out of game, or to many in game, the few ive met have been alright. I do however want to have the right to make a joke at their expence once in a while, just like i would with any other guild on the server.

That comment wasn't really necessary now, was it?
I have no problems with the Guild I'm in. They are a great bunch of people once you get to know them and actually talk to them outisde the game itself. Not EVERYBODY treats the way people act in a game as how they act in real life.

I contemplated quiting a few weeks ago and actually did for all of three days. I thought about it and I was quiting for the wrong reasons, I'll be here for the long run now.

Yeah, don't just quit because of Smuggler, try other things.
I did what I wanted to last year in June, I became a MDE/MA/MM/and half of Merchant. I had fun. Then holocrons happened and my first one was of course, Smuggler. I got about halfway through the profession and then I stopped playing altogether, until about a month ago, when JTL brought my interest back in it. I finished Smuggler, and I love it. Not because of money from slicing, but because of the people I meet.I'ev also contemplated doing Musician for kicks, possibly even Medic, it just depends on who you are and what your interest is. If you hate Smugglers so much, be a BH and hunt us

I'm bored with SWG, bored with smuggling, and have no faith that anything will change for the better. Problem is, I'm paid up through November, andI've got a much bigger appreciation for LucasArts' work, so I'm sticking around for JTL.I'mhopingthat LA can get me away from the busted ground-game and make SWG fun again. If it doesn't pan out, I'm done.

I don't think it's so much quitting because of smuggler, than quitting because the company you're paying money to on a monthly basis isn't coming through for you. These things were promised to the customer quite some time ago. Admittedly I wasn't around when these promises were made, but had I been, I'd be pretty upset as well. I'd be upset that promises were made ages ago, then excuses, and more excuses, and then new, bigger things were brought to the forefront before addressing old, existing issues. Issues again, that were promised to be fixed. Now if we weren't paying monthly then I could see it being not so big of an issue. But we're putting our money and trust in a company on a monthly basis, we'd expect them to come through, or at least give us a reasonable explanation or timeline. I don't know...that's what I, as the paying customer, would expect from a business. It's a matter of trust, when you break it down. How long can you keep putting your trust in a company to come through on provide when promises have been broken? Myself, I'm sticking it out for a few more, in hopes that they'll come through. But for others, I can fully understand why maybe they'd be a little discouraged from doing the same.

Every day I log on, I have plenty of people contacting me for all of my smuggler services (slicing, spice, and faction selling).
I'm also a Master Weaponsmith and only do custom work. I never have "nothing to do" in that area.
I'm staying with the game for the long haul, and I'm getting the expansion.
And I'm not dropping Smuggler.

I am not going anywhere especially with the things I have recently heard and the puzzle pieces that finally fit in place.....Lucas Arts will have the technology, they are hiring the personelle, they are changing things already supposedly set in stone, only one man on earth can do such a thing and if this game has roused the great bearded one from his apparent slumber at our plights things may change, after all, Proprietary Rights for life was what he was paid with originally and last I checked the great onewas alive and kicking, Proprietary means he can pull their liscence with or without notice. Even if SOE keeps the liscence I will give them a shot at fixing it on some kind of schedule.

I am sticking around, but being military I get forced breaks from the game every now and again. I come back after being gone for two to three months and have a whole new game practically. There are definatly things I don't like about SWG but there are a ton I really appreciate. You got to take the good with the bad.

I am in it for the long haul. I am pre-paid through at least July 2005 and will probably continue beyond.
