I dropped mine to 10-15k per slice ...more if I don't have tools on me and have to craft them

Cool, I get a one star for stating a fact. Good to know people aren't morons.

Woah, wasn't by me, btw. I very rarely 1-star and certainly not for some disagrement.

Never pointed the finger. I know some people like to one star just because they don't have anything intellegent to say and don't post. Ohwell, I get enough 5 stars for it to not matter.......not like in matters anyway. lol

as for the solo "nerf", it's a load of bull, running high end missions in a group is still an effective source of income. it's how we played when the game first started, so nothing new there.

Um, if you take a 30k mission in a solo group you're only gonna get 1500 credits for it now. Not exactly what I call an "effective source of income."

when did i say solo group? i stand by what i and many others have stated before. running high end missions in a group is still an effective way to make money.

Hell, any solo-group nerfing was already trumped by the total lack of customers. All of my regulars left for WoW or EQ2, and the remaining 2 other subscribers left on my server can't make it worth my while. I stopped mass-market slicing a long time ago, but it's not a viable alternative for income anymore.

Faction has gone by the wayside too, but I think that has more to do with people hunting their own stormtroopers for loot.

So between the nerf and SWG's homhorraging churn, the only income I have is through flying duty missions and selling loot. Mostly I'm treading water.

But I'd ratherstarve than go back to spamming 3k slices.

I can only dream I also dream of landing at Jabbas (as a Rebel Pilot) to get SMUGGLER missions from Jabba or landing at Nym's to get SMUGGLER missions from Nym.

I am just preparing my wishlist for the Smuggler Revamp

well Geevo, you forgot the rest, landing and taking off from terminals just for us in odd places.

Nope. All the people I know that left for EQ2/WoW stayed gone. Those that I still see are just popping in to visit and say goodbyes while their subscriptions run out.

Now that the rewards from missions are being split among the entire solo group I have an idea... DON'T SOLO GROUP. I understand that if you group for xp purposes the cash rewards suck, but you are grouping for xp. I can run missions solo and for the price ofone set of buffs and easily make 200k. So will I be dropping my prices, hmmm.... no.

I don't know. About a month ago I started a price experiment. I didn't set any price, told the customer it was completely up to them. I tell them to let their satisfaction guide their tip, and you know what? I'm getting an average of 20K a slice. My biggest tip was 60K for a slice. I'm making a lot more money slicing now than I ever did and no one complains about the price because they set it. And the side benefit is I'm developing a list of premium clients, those who tipped the most, for whom I tell I will travel to them to slice if they need it.

I know it seems like a dumb way to do business, not setting prices, but let me tell you it works. Sure you get the occasional person who tips 5K, but those people get put on another list and in the future they get a I'm too busy response the next time they need a slice.

I've also noted clients like it when you roleplay slicing as the illegal act it is. I'm not talking big scripted plays, but little things like, "We need to go somewhere more private to do this." Or having a fellow smuggler act like a lookout. People seem to really enjoy these little things to add to the flavor and will generally increase their tip.

Lurdanta, this is exactly how I price my slices, I dont. I say "whateveryou customer thinks is enough". Yeah so I get a few 5k and even some 2-3k, but the 1.8mil for 6 suits of comp way makes up for it. Yes i said 1.8MIL. And you can tell the cheapskates from the noobs by looking at thier bio. 1k tip and 2 professions mastered, well noobie, but 3k tip and 15 proffessions mastered "welcome to the If I have time list."
