Ylpot is my smuggler on Bloodfin, was curious if any of you Bloodfinian slicers could give me an idea of what you are charging for slices and your time/service.

Thanks in advance.

I'm on Bloodfin I charge 5K, free if it's under 20%. Usually works out pretty good,a lot ofpeople tip well if it's upper 20s and above. A lot of people don't. I hate to sound like a capitalist bastage, but there aren't a lot of us on Bloodfin. Several people tell me that it's hard to find a smuggler. I was thinking of increasing my prices to reflect demand. Does anyone charge more than 5 or 6K? How do people respond to that?

MINIONS OF XENDOR!!!!!

Shame on you, Cabbage! You are never supposed to slice for free! The only extenuating circumstances for that would be your best friends or maybe guildmates. You can not effect the outcome of your slices so why should you pay for it? That's a terrible thing to do. I was under the impression that that practice went out 2 months before 100 credits per percent increase!

I'm on a very low population server (Tarquinas) and one of a few "public" MasterSmugglers (Master Smugglers that use their skills outside offaction point salesand PA activities) and I charge 10k if I need the cash...12-15k per slice if I just get stopped.

And you're on Bloodfin? Last I checked, I thought that was a decent sized server. Here are my recommendations:

  1. Up your prices. 5k minimum...try 8-10k for all slices regardless of outcome. You can't help the randomness.

  2. If you're a Master, charge even more forLocked Containers. Encourage people to seek out Novice Smugglers who actually need the experience.

  3. Up then prices! Upcharge! You've been nerfed/borked with a Slicing autopull bug. It's harder than it should be for you to perform the work needed...so charge more.

Get what you're stuff is worth, man. Even your 15-25% speed slices on weapons will add about 15-25k credits to the cost of a weapon from a Sliced Items vendor from a Weaponsmith. Why should you be getting the short end of the stick?

You're not price gouging. You're simply getting what your service is worth to the economy. Plain and simple.

As a new Master Smuggler myselfWELCOME!!

I did my firist "commercial" job for a MA last night - about 40 or some comp armor pieces.

I only chrged himwhatevr he thought was fair which turned out to be 250k.

I did the job more as a means to learn what it takes to do the big jobs than for the money.I got some raelly bad slices but most were in the higher percentage ranges.

After that I evesdropped on a couple guildmates - one needing a high damage VK the other didn't have one. The TKM got an unsliced VK and asked me to slice it. He didnot ask for a particluar slice jsut cn you slice it.

I got down on one knee and prayed to the slicing gods. I got a 35% dmg slice for him. He loved it.

Has anyone stickied the information in the FAQs that in order to succeed in slicing you must pray to the Slicing Gods?

Congrats on Master, glad to see another Smuggler join the ranks on Bloodfin.

As far as slices go I charge 8k per. Had a complaint or two, but overall people are happy to pay.

Well I initially went w/ 5k per slice, did a couple of smaller jobs. Then sliced a set of Wookie armor and got paid 50k for it [very nice tip!]. Sliced 10 LVA's @ 6k per and the icing on the cake was 23 weapons I sliced for a WS for payment of 150k [his choice, I quoted 6k per]. He's been looking for a slicer to work with and said he'd email me in the future with more work.

Not bad for first day on the job.

A RL friend of mine has recently mastered AS and WS on Bloodfin so I imagine he'll keep me pretty busy as well.

6k seems like a fair price, for now, with anything under 17% being free. I don't have a problem with "giving away" my service if the result is very poor - in fact it may be something that small/minute that would make a one-time customer a repeat customer. They can be your best and worst advertisement.

On a less happy note, I had someone trying to indoctrinate me into FP purchasing/delegating, which I have absolutely no knowledge of. Very pushy, rude, and demanding. I can see my ignore list becoming rather large.

Welcome to the club, man. I too am on Bloodfin, and am one fo the longest running MS on the server. I charge usually 10k, and have only had 2 people not accept the charge. Sometimes I will charge more if I am in the middle of doing something else, or will encourage them to seek out a younger smuggler (always in the case of locked containers).

When I was slicing heavily and was doing a lot of business (somewhere around 8 months ago :smileyhappy I even tried an "insurance slice" where I would charge 8k and offer a gaurantee of at least 20% on the slice or your money back for the cost of an additional 2k (this was before the price hike, back when everyone was charging 5-7k max). That worked pretty well actually, but I couldn't justify it when I wasn't able to devote the time to heavy slicing anymore.

Good luck to you, if you need any advice send me a Gmail or /tell
