Thread: I Almost Got Paid To Evade Contraband Scans

'Bout a week ago i shuttled up to Mos Espa because there was a new ship vendor i wanted to check out.. One thing that bugs the hell outa me on Tat. All the garrison stromies con green to me when i'm unbuffed, unarmored and just equiped with my *stylish* Metal-DL with scope.
Anyway, i'm leaving the starport and immediately get scanned. I've never failed a scan so i just kept on walking, sure if i "fly casual" on top of my 95% evasion skill, I got nothing to worry about.. Lo and behold, I fail. That's a bummer, feel like a loser smuggler. Then the shouts "He's a rebel, Shoot him!" and i start running for my life. Half a dozen "green" stormies on my tail.
What surprised me, however, was the fact that instead of getting just a TEF, i was actually turned completely Overt and had to find a recruiter to go Covert. I'd planned on just checking out the vendor and calling it a night, but I had to travel all the way across the planet to find the nearest recruiter... Ended up logging out in the bottom of the HQ so i could go to sleep without haveing to stay up another hour.

Nice story. One can only hope this will be yet another tale us old and grizzley Smugglers can tell the younguns, gathered around a camp firein the years to come post revamp, of how bad things used to be in the old days, before the Smuggling
