I've found that you should always cut the right wire. I love trusting karma and slicing terminals. I also offer half off to people who whine that my slicing prices are too high if I don't use a clamp. They almost always shut up after that

Don't forget to cover your body with mayonaise, oh, you should be naked, clothes and armor detract from slicing results...be sure you have placed a sacrifice at the base of the floating bush, too...

And, if you can slice on Dathomir precisely 200m North by Northwest from the Nightsister Stronghold POI, you'll always get best results there.

By no means should you slice on Rori...slicing on Rori is backwards and will actually make the weapon or armor worse than before.

Of course this is all in the FAQ, so it should all go without saying, but just in case you didnt' read it.

If you don't want to believe the answers here, all of which are true, then you could try reading the sticky FAQ at the top of the page. Maybe. But up there it doesn't mention that you alway get a better slice after randomly slaughtering a temple full of gungans.
