I was actually mildly extatic reading that the YT-1300 will come as stock standard, rather than with suped up Falcon weapons etc.

I am however a bit dissapointed that it'll take up 140 SP in order to be able to make all things starcrafty, but then again that's not set in stone at the moment I'm guessing.

No. Not if they're charging the same SP as current novice and elite professions.
You could me Master Smuggler, Master Shipwright, Ship Engineer 4-4-4-0 (with 4 spare SP), or obviously, Smuggler 4-4-4-0, Master Shipwright, Master Ship Engineer.

Yep, and there goes my plans to be the official supplier of Starships to my guild. Definately can't master Starship Engineering with Master Doc. Now I'm going to have to go through that whole FS crap, just so I can have a second character. Crap. Might as well make her a Master Artisan as well, and provide all sorts of Transportation.

I'm going to withhold judgement until after I see how much I'm flying around in combat. I hope that the revamp gives us more combat specials because if I have to give up my elite combat professions to work on ships my ground combat game is really going to hurt.
