Possibly a dim-as-a-plank question: If I transfer my credits from bank to cash, leaving only the amount in the bank that I want to spend on FP....and then some cheeky Reb shoots me while overt....can s/he loot the lot off me? I dont PvP and am not clear on the consequences of getting toasted while overt?

No, you can't be looted.

In fact, there's no real difference that I know of between holding your credits on your person or in the bank. Although as an old UO vet, I am in the habit of stashing things in the bank often.

But no, there's no danger in holding credits on your person.

I have afew questions regarding buying faction as a smuggler. I assume an Imperial smuggler buys Imp faction and a rebel smuggler buys rebel faction, is that correct? Also, at what level can you start to actually buy faction. Finally, is the only way to improve your own faction to get another smuggler to sell you some (other than grinding it of course)? Meaning, you can't buy faction for yourself in any meaningful amount.

Yes. Imperial Smugglers buy Imperial Faction. Rebel Smugglers buy Rebel Faction.

Underworld IV skill needed to buy faction.

This is true. Since you are capped at 500 for buying faction, you cannot really buy yourself a significant amount. You'll have to get someone to "hold" the faction for you and then transfer it back if you want to buy yourself a significant amount. Make sure they're a Colonel too though, so you lose less in the exchange rate when it comes back to you.

and neutral smugglers can buy.... lol dont get me started.

Good macro calling it in block very tasty, Illl be using that from now, I usually scan the logs when im like a k from the end of a sesh.

I have been killed mid afk sell before most irritating. By the way you guys can be looted by players who you have given your consent to. So if you knew a good doc a while back and you have fallen out with him, check your consent list with /consent, to removea guy /unconsent name

So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

I don't get it

you /del 100 a time but buy 125 at a time? that would put you over the cap pretty fast not?

btw is the macro the same for imps and rebs?

Thanks

BloodMonk: Yes, I buy it in 125 blocks (138 technically because of the COA bonus) and I delegate 100. However, there's the transfer loss, so it costs me 125 to send 100 (Lt. Colonel) so there is an extra 13 that adds up each cycle- but it's no big deal, because if you have more than 500 when you attempt to buy faction, it simply doens't go through and the recruiter says "You've done enough for us already".

Surseance: Glad someone likes it! I'm always trying to come up with truly useful macros- there should be more than just the /cob all the time types.

Sengis: I did not know that about consent. Odd game mechanic; probalby left over from the days of corpse runs I'll wager.

I put the three macros in the toolbar, and I hit the 2K one once I get the name in faction correct. I run 2K at a time, and use 500 or 100 to finish it off (like if a customer wanted 2500, or lag caught me and one run didn't go through)
The tell at the bottom of the 2K one is helpful since it lets me know with an audio cue when it's done since I often will alt-tab or do like some calculus homework while running it.

I ran into a problem with the "faction" macro.

del [customer] 100;
/conversationstart;
/pause 2;
/ui action conversationResponse5; <--- For me at least, this option is the "I might have some information for you..". Changed to Response4 and the macro hummed right along. Just an FYI.
/pause 2;
/ui action conversationResponse3;
/pause 2;
/ui action conversationResponse0;
/pause 2;
/conversationstop;

Ok, I've never delegated faction points to anybody, since I don't sell FP's mainly. But this raises a question.... I know that you lose FP's when delegating (how much depends on rank as we all know), so wouldn't the amount you delegate be MORE than 100 if you wanted to send them 100 FP's?

If you're a Colonel the ratio is 1.18:1, so wouldn't you do /del [customer] 118 so that they receive 100 FP's? Or does doing /del [customer] 100 send them 100 but 118 gets deducted from you?

Yep, you have to change the conversation response number if you go ahead and tell the recruiter you want to be covert again before you start.

When you delegate 100, it costs you 118 at colonel, 125 at lt col, etc. The recipient always gets the number that you /del unless you don't have enough fp to pay for the cost, in which case nothing happens and you get a system message.

Ah, I've always wondered about that. Glad to see SOE didn't make our lives utter Hell by making us have to do that math when delegating FP's Thanks for the info
