As much as I would lave to help with school starting up again for me next week I don't know that I'll have the time to really do it justice (it's my last year or college soI really have to buckle down
).

What can I expect?
First, let me dispel any myths. This is not a perk, this is a job. You have to take direction, and spend a lot of time doing boring "grunt work". It's not glamorous. You have to be dedicated and committed. Expect to spend a lot of time repetitively testing certain weapon combinations, in either PvP or PvE, and to spend even more time giving feedback and discussing the changes. Expect it to take up the majority of your allotted gaming time, require time every night, and to take priority over logging in to your regular server. -k
I am trying to get more specific details about what exactly is expected from testers.
Am I a good candidate?
At this point, I don't have the exact criteria that the devs want, but we should get the ball rolling on who is interested so in case I'm called upon to make a quick decision, I have a list of people who are interested, and who would do a good job. - k
So before you apply, ask yourself the following:
Do I have the time to test this?
This may be harsh, but because this is a small selected group, we need testers who will dependably logon every day. If you can't do that, you need to leave the spot open for someone who can. The sandbox will take priority over your normal gaming, including restocking. Normally I say, work around real-life priorities. Now, I say that you need the ability to clear your schedule. If your job is 60 hours a week, if you can only sneak online for 2 hours a night in any case, if workload has a tendency to bloom at inconvenient times, this job is not for you. - I have no life these days
Do I have the patience to give feedback?
As a correspondent, I can say that you will probably spend twice as long giving feedback and writing up your findings as you are actually online testing. It's not glamorous, expect to feel like a glorified secretary. - *points thread to post count*
Do I have the ability to take directions?
This is not a game where you run off and do whatever you want. You're not going to be able to focus on going cool places, getting loot, or making money. The devs want you to test aspect X, you test aspect X. If it's boring, too bad. If you have to do it 50 times, that's life. - boring is my middle name (well, Richard really)
Do I have experience testing?
If you already play on TestCenter or have previously been involved in beta testing, then you know what to expect, and what is expected of you. It's not required, but it is helpful. - no beta test xpbut ive spend 10 to 15 hours a shot in the recording studio doing stuff over and over or telling people to do things over and over...does that count?
Do I have combat experience?
Sorry folks, this is the combat balance, not the crafting balance. It's true that combat-related crafting will be tested and tweaked (such as armor and weapons), but tailoring will probably not be receiving tweaks. So, primarily we're not going to be crafting (well, probably not), we're going to be whacking each other with sticks. If you have no experience with combat or healing, you will be less useful to the devs. (Now why they want 5 picks from me, the tailor correspondent, is beyond me - but there ya have it.) - I tank for my guild in the DWB, Corvett and Geo. When Im bored I go overt and PWN Imps often and badly, well unless 2 or 3 round a corner and surprise me while Im in full PWN mode.
Itdoes not matter if I get picked or not because for me itfeels likethe Oscar's. Im just happy to beNominated! (Yes I know Im a dork) Thank You Caylin, really.
Team Hawtpants is the shiznite!
BTW I fool around a lot but I also understand that this would be a job.

I'd like to put in a good word for Geevo. Although hes a reb and im an imp, hes taken LOADS of time to answer my questions, help me with prices, and generally has been my mentor for some time (although he may not consider it to be so, but he is) I see him PvP'ing all the time, I see him in the DWB all the time, and he takes time to slice whenever someone wants it. I'd have to give him mad props for all he's done for smugglers on Intrepid.
Just my .02 credits.

Man, it's times like these that I wish I had been all over the forums since day 1. Oh well.
I know I have a bunch of great ideas, but so do many others, and your current list looks great.
There's a guy from the Ahazi server whose name was Toryn (Toryn_Farr was his forums name), who was a smuggler for life and had some great player content for the profession. If he were still around I'd almost demand his name be put on there lol.
Also, bounce some ideas off a guy from Ahazi named Coban_Bochry. He's started to pick up where Toryn left off.
EDIT: found Toryn and Coban's forum names

I'm glad our interests are going to be watched out, I have full confidence in all the individuals listed and feel that they will help us get a great shake from the sandbox. Good luck.

Thank you for your consideration in responding to my request to be added to the Sandbox list. Once again, you earn my respect in your professional and diplomatic response, and I appreciate that only those who have been involved on this forum regularly warrant your selection.
I look forward to working with you on another project soon, and wish you and your selected the best of times during this activity.
Until our paths cross again my friend.

Looks like a good list.
Also good to hear that ElectricNomad and Solo gave up some names.
Go Smugs go! Rip that combat balance beta a new one.

I'd love to play in the sandbox, but my time would be limited, so I don't want to take the place of someone more helpful. Go get 'em, sandboxers!
