Thread: What is a Smuggler to you? Choices Within!

For me, I would have to say1/3 Businessman, 1/3 Ring Leader, and 1/3 Slicer right now until I finally receive my preorder of JTL (I'm currently overseas). When I load that up, I am going to add more of the Pirate and Transporter 1 type play. Right now, I am neutral and will work for whoever pays me the most. I would like to play more of the criminal aspect but there is really no concequence to do it in the GCWand loose all business from the community due to your reputation.

i play the part of the slick leader of my Syndicate, imagine Prince Xizor, the leader of the Black Sun.. though probly less intricate and whatnot, but he is my definate role model... for more information..

A smuggler to me is a non imp, hell non faction for that matter. Its about the profit baybe, no more and no less.

Some people roleplay their Smuggler in different ways, dress them differently, and just view their Smuggler as something that could be completely different from the next guy. That's perfectly cool because of the variety of Smugglers in the Star Wars Universe. Lando, Han, Talon, Sala, Roa, and the list goes on. So I'll put a few choices down and you can reply with a short answer telling what you are!
- Transporter type 1. Carrier of contraband for credits.
- Transporter type 2. Carrier of contraband for a cause (Rebel).
- Pirate. Privateering space for whatever they can.
- Gambler. Earning your living as a slick Sabacc player.
- Businessman. A keen intellectual person looking for a good deal.
- Ring Leader. Like Talon, more of a leader and business than a hands-on Smuggler.
- Criminal. An underworld con-man that's a nothin more than a criminal.
- Drug Dealer. Spice dealer and crafter of the illicit, you make your living of the addictions of others.
- Slicer. Hacker and information gatherer. You make your living cracking codes and subsystems.
I really can't think of any more. If yall do, post 'em and I'll add 'em here
I left out the Crime Lord type even though I like Caylin's idea simply because I can think of a few Crime Lords in SW that weren't just Smugglers. The Hutts were just Hutts it was their lifestyle and Garris Shrike was actually a former Bounty Hunter.
So, who are you, Smugglers?

I seem to be getting a rep as a slicer, but I try and play as the devastatingly charming guy who can turn their hand to anything.
My tag changes depending on my mood, as do my clothes and hair, and at the moment I seem to be blazing a trail through the stars.
I'm not a combat freak, but I'm working on the skills so that I can take care of myself.
I think a Smuggler shouldn't be easily labelled, so that's what I try and play.

Slicer all the way. It's all about the information gathering. I also tweak weapons and armor on the side. My cover is a TKM who uses her skills to gather hide and meat. I rarely wear my Master Smuggler Tag (usually don't wear a Tag because I RP) but it's the Tag I am most proud of.
Edit: Oh yeah and Oakai is a terrible flirt...she's good at getting what she wants out of people by batting her lashes at them

Being fairly unusual, or at least nonconventional as far as smugglers on my server go (he's no Han Solo clone and doesn't sell fp either); I'd say 'Baho is probably a 50-50 Businessman/Slicer, with a side order of Transporter type 1 when it is absoultely necessary.
Infact, I don't even really play him as a smuggler, just as anopportunistic, young expatriatemon cal, with a nack for a good deal, some skill at 'configuring' (as he likes to call it)most technical items and a fairly 'broad' veiw on theintricacies of law enforcement; who is keen to explore the galaxy for himself.

These would define me best. Yes I dabble in spice, slice, fp. I fight dirty - alot - ok, too much. But I do alot of the math. I walk away from people trying to sell garbage. I go the extra mile or km To find that better vendor. I contact the people I do business with frequently and tell them how their services are. I meet all sorts of professions and search for people alot. I have lots of people on my friends list whom I never even spoken too. People now ask me for references to all sorts of professionals, hoping to not let either of them down.
I dont spam for slices. I hardly ever wear my tag though I am proud to say I am a smuggler. And I /whisper to everyone.

A Rebel Operative(Slicer) who modifies his transport Manifest to smuggle alliance equipment (Transporter type 2) and sometimes uses his skills to make a little extra on the side (businessman)
