I said I wasn't a thief, I didn't say anything about not being a criminal.
Smugglers get contraband from point A to point B without getting caught (hopefully), they don't pick pockets or do breaking and entering.

lol another smuggler said the i'm not a criminal thing a few days ago on another post. I think people keep putting to much honor into what we are...
I'm neither. I acknowledge that I'm a smuggler, but I can justify it as I choose the laws I operate under. Ahhh the things you can get away with when you do things for 'king and country' so to speak.

Actually, I don't deal spice either. I'm the guy who gets the stuff from the people who make it to the dealers.
Unfortunately, we're forced into making the stuff, but I can pretend that factory is someone else's, can't I?

It's not just a han solo thing, it's a perception of how smugglers operate. Smugglers assist in the movement of the goods made byguys who play around with a meth lab.
If the smuggler likes to play with chemicals, all well and dandy, but it's not a skill related to being a smuggler.
Running through checkpoints, using skills and bribes to get that crate of spices to a customer... or whipping my pocket meth lab kit out of my pocket... I'll take the one that actually has me smuggle every time.
Slicingequipment isn'trelated to smuggling either unless your smuggling them, but we all enjoy it.
And perception is nothing more than a fancy way to have an opinion

True, but it was generally something that was done to the smuggler's own equipment to give him/her an edge when faced with the authorities (or other hostile types), but it's become a commercial enterprise in SWG.
