So I have this right......

I go to the Endor system. Fly over to the imperial station there and declare. Then go over to claw station and enter kessel or deep space. For every reb I kill I will get faction points for them?

I went into deep space monday and got nothing but imperial prestige for killin rebs. But I was not overt.

Yes. This is how I went from Warrant to Col in about a week. Getting one rank a night.

Tier 5 Reb fighters, in Kessel, will get you about 50 FP per kill.

Tier 5 gunboat about 190 FP per kill.

Not sure on the Vette.. never go the chance to solo it.

The Vette is 500 worth I think, some time ago when I did it overt...

depends on your rank

anything at staff sargeant or above - no limit i think... i've had over 18k of faction at one time - and I'm Staff Sargent

So here's a question for a returning smuggler, have they removed the limit on FP you can buy from the recruiter now? Cause I remember there being a cap and having to delegate after obtaining so much from the recruiter.

Yes the cap has been increased. There is link in the FAQ to a nice document on FP that, I believe, is current.

Plus, the buying options have changed. 100k for 1250 FP , or 20k for 250 FP, I believe.

Make sure you do all the ground based faction quests as well - you can rack up some pretty good faction from those fairly easily. Like the guy standing outside the Imperial recruiter in Mos Eisley. They are basically just the "go to this guy and talk to him, then come back" type missions...and towards the end, you start getting 2000 fp, if I remember correctly.

Same with the themeparks. A lot of running back and forth, but you get some good faction for each quest you complete.

Completing Vader's space quests after getting the Jedi Starfighter is good for another 3,000 points as well.

A bit off topic...but how if at all...do you maintain positive faction for both rebel/imps at the same time...

I've never discovered a usefull method of doing this..

Currently -5000 (Imperial) and 3000 (Rebel) as a rebel smuggler...

Not that im in any hurry to help out the imps...butmorals and alleigence to the rebellion...fall below my profit margin.

Suggestions?

im a Master Sargent right now i purchased all of them spending a good deal of money and im now very low on money so i need to get to Colonel so i can sell faction .. so for me now whats the best way to get good faction ? i ran some imperial missions and i was getting like 15xp per kill and for lair ... worthless in my opinon .. id rather run Xp missions and pay for the xp at 20k for 250 xp .... i think it would be easier? Any help appriciated !

The best way I found is to go SF then walk to the coords 0,0 on Tatooine. Remove all clothing and armor. Only equip a wooden staff (better FP without the hindrances armor and clothing bring). Walk around in counter-clockwise concentric circles until you find a lair or a spawn of Storm Troopers. Yell, LONG LIVE THE REBELLION and watch the FP pour on in.

Call me old fashioned... but I still find a mortar and pestle an effective means of grinding just about anything. Sometimes they can be hard to find, being a bit outdated, but well worth it, in my opinion.

I went out and did faction missions (cl80) a few days ago with 4 peers and discovered that those cl80-82 ST's are some bad mamma-jamma's. It took an hour to do a mission, we all died multiple times and in general it sucked. Soloing I had about the same luck. My recommendation is to grind regular missions and just buy the points. Its faster and safer. Space is good too if you are factioned in space. If you are neutral in space, even if you go register as a combatant or SF you will get nothing but Prestige in space...blah.

Use a rifle from 60ish m away. Stormies are dumb sods and if you root 'em right off they may not even be able to shoot back. I've also found that if you're out of rifle range of other npc's, they won't agro you 90% of the time.

If you're going to get into the faction game, you need to learn The Mantra.
That is, whenever you hear people asking about grinding faction, you add, at every opportunity, that the easiest way to get faction is to buy it from a Smuggler. People will try and stay "Space" or "Bugged spawns" or "splitting and milking Group missions", but be sure you announce that these suggestions are bugged/exploits/risky. The easiest way to get faction is to run cash/loot missions and the pay a Smuggler. The next easiest way to get faction is to run cash/loot missions and the pay a Smuggler. The simplest way to get faction is to run cash/loot missions and the pay a Smuggler. The SWG Method of Choice for getting faction is to run cash/loot missions and the pay a Smuggler
So my advice would be to run cash missions or get loot and buy your faction from a Smuggler

Personally, I tell people to run cash missions or get loot and buy your faction from a smuggler, but that's me, I'm just strange that way.

Hmmm Good advice but the cl82 stormies were only giving 1-2 FP each and the bases themselves only gave about 100. I can spend 20k (aka 1 mission) and get that much easily.

Best way, do group faction hunts with your guild.

If you are unable to do that, Go on leave, and do factoin missions against Bounty hunter and Assasincamps. Thenpc's of these don't pack and are easy kills. You get at lvl 80between 90 and 105 fp per mission and make about9.8k per mission.

After a while of this you can go back to your recuiter and spend the money you made on the missions to buy more fp. This is the best way I have come across. Takes some work, but it's doable. I find soloing faction bases of my lvl next to impossible due to the fact that they aggro me all at the same time. And if you get in over your head, Feign Death rules!!
