Thread: A summary of the 'revamp'
Yah, that was stuff along the line of what GreenMarine was thinking. So I'd expect to see us working with him on how that will work in the future

True about the slices mate. I think the only master thing we get is understanding Lekku and Jawaese.
Another interesting item I remember reading was concerning a smuggler mission terminal, whereby there was a chance to keep a percentage of the stuff to be smuggled, at a cost of lower payout. This was also going to lead to BH on your tail if you mucked up a mission.
Caylin, any thoughts on that, as you must have read those posts (I think we all feel your pain at having to wade through a lot of that crap mate!)
This is the big change. It is what gives the new bounty hunter a identity and frees us from the "cookie-cutter" template syndrome. It opens the possibity of melee Master Bounty Hunters, something that is still unachievable even with the lower skillpoint requirement being suggested. This is what gives us our freedom, yet still be bounty hunters. Greenmarine is currently working on THIS EXACT CHANGE for smugglers. Once he has it worked out for them, we can use it in our own revamp.

That covers just about everything we know concerning our revamp and is of course, subject to change.

I remember first hearing about the smuggler revamp almost a year ago...It really is amazing how so many of you depend on it as though it was your last chance to have fun in the game. Master Smuggler right now may not be "uber", but its still far from horrible.
Actually it's 13 months and a bit more, from August the 26th, 2003. And yes that's far from horrible, but we are smugglers and...
WE DON'T SMUGGLE !!!!

What can be worse than not being able to do what your profession is supposed to do? Recently Docs weren't able to heal themself as far as I remember, and everybody saw it as disaster. Got a clue what Bounty Hunters would say if they couldn't hunt anyone, be it PC or NPC? They even ask for a nerf of our skill because some Padawans make it more difficult for them do so few of their jobs. Imagine an Armorsmith that's not able to create armor, architects that can't make houses, Creature Handlers who can't tame. We are not even able to do our job! Instead we sell our tricks! We don't use fast talking to get our jobs done, we use it to get other people in high positions. We don't use our slicing skills to have an advantage over others, we use it to enhance the gears of others. And we are not smuggling spice, we make it, and not even often since it is of little use. Maybe it's just me, but I can't think of a worse situation.

BAH! I had a perfectly fine post typed out and kept getting this horrible "styles" error message whenever I tried posting. Heres the quote, its not from a dev but maybe there is something more to it, perhaps Caylin could shed some light?

Bounty Hunters had their prerequisites reduced, not changed into something else entirely. So we didn't really establish a firm precedent as far as that goes.
As for what Starscream1 wrote... he is not very well informed unless he got that out of him at the fan fest. I was talking to GM at the summit and none of this 'mastery of any elite combat profession' stuff came up.
Dynamic prerequisites did though.
