Mal: "Sure. It would be humiliating. Having to lie there while the better man refuses to spill your blood. Mercy is the mark of a great man. (lightly stabs Atherton with the sword) Guess I'm just a good man. (stabs him again) Well, I'm all right."
Harrow: "You didn't have to wound the man."
Mal: "Yeah, I know, it was just funny."
Ahhhhhh. So good. Makes me want to go buy them again. Every time I buy the DVD set I watch it, love it, and inevitably get drunk and rave to someone about how great they are and end up giving them away. Stupid alcohol. Almost happened again this friday, but I didn't have them. I was tempted to buy them *just* to give them to someone else so they could be sucked into the cult.
Everytime I think of what type of smuggler I wanna be I think of Mal. Honorable, brave, slippery, underhanded, slightly twisted and off his rocker, and not the least bit ashamed of who he is. Help yourself before you help others, but live by a code.
That and Kaylee is just so damned hot

Looks great, can't wait. Loved Firefly, sad to see it end. When it did end, I was hoping that maybe the Sci-Fi channel would pick it up and continue, but apparently not.

Not that I wanna turn this into an advertisement (not that's gonna stop me) but I did want to say that an entire city on Tatooine (Intrepid Galaxy) was built by fans of Firefly: Serenity Valley. Hell, even the first Mayor was called Padre Book (LOL).
Firefly was the best thing on the box. It was a travesty that it was cancelled (same goes forFuturama!) Still, at least it enabled a movie to be made!

/runs off to see if Amazon has the series for sale
Honestly I dont watch much TV so I missed this when it was on. Is it just a set I can buy to check it out? I highly doubt the small town I am stuck in at the moment has it at the video store. And if it is as good as you all say, I will want to own it anyways. ![]()
/whisper oh and I was a Buffy and Angel fan too...though I always thought Spike was the most interesting character..guess I like bad boys!

There's hope. I mean look at Family Guy (why did the dinosaurs die?) it was cancelled, but through DvD sales and such exectives realized that there was still a huge market for the show, and brought it back. If Serenity does good enough business, maybe we'll get a similar rebirth of the show, or at least a movie series.

"Serenity" is already slated to be an initial 3-movie run, dependant on whether the first film does well.

$35 at amazon...so what the heck I ordered it. Now to wait for it to get here, the trailer looked very good and the reviews on the site were almost all 5 stars. Can't wait to see it.

It's hard to find another tv show who's fans are such rabbid zealots and yet remain sane

2 words. Farscape fans
I am equally obsessed by both and both were killed before their time.

Agreed. I'm a bit more rabid about Farscape because I had longer to get hooked.
While Farscape was airing, I thought of Firefly as a kind of competition, and wasn't interested in it. My buddy brought it around later, and I thought it was outstanding. Similarities, of course. Farscape went one way though, and Firefly went the other. Two fantatstic plots.
And for those of you that buy the dvd's, take care to watch them in order. They were aired out of order, and the pilot did not play first. *boggle* Watching the pilot first helped to clarify a few things.

You beat me to it. At least FarScape got that two episode TV movie to bring some closure, although the "Lion King" ending to it wasn't so great.

I saw it on the apple trailer site, but I see the clicky's up above. I can't wait. One of my all-time favorite scifi scenes is in that series. Mal's about to let Jane (a guy, don't ask) suffocate in the airlock, and Jane says: Don't tell them how I died. Make something up. (Jane had betrayed the crew)
I'm still ticked that I only ever got to see that AFTER it cancelled. That and Farscape... what nimrods control the media?
/rofl
Ya that was a good part..
