Well that doesn't really tell us much. It's in game concept art but is it concepts they're still going to use?

So...they AREN'T for ships coming out with the expansion, but ships that MIGHT come out with the expansion.
So the answer is, we're HOPING they are. 
Last we heard officially, there was only ONE multi-passenger ship, the YT. Now there's the Lady Luck. Perhaps this Smuggler's Run as well? Who knows. Maybe this stuff will make it in, maybe no.

I got Smuggler's Run. For a second I thought the painting reflected your profession in some way, but turns out I'm just super-lucky.

Seems a lot of smugglers got "Smuggler's Run". Last night as I was waiting for at the starport I talked with two other smugglers who had received the same painting.

I got the 'Emperor's Eyes' painting... 
It's almost like getting slapped in the face twice. Not only am I a smuggler, but I hate the empire!

Maybe it's just early here but I'm confused by your reply Maxsteele...
I was wondering if htese paintings were representative of 9 ships that were going to be released in Jump to Lightspeed. We know of one or two but it seems to me that an expansion of that magnitude would have a large variety of ships. It also seems that they wouldn't do 9 peices of concept art just for the paintings were a byproduct of the concept art for Jump to Lightspeed. *shrugs* guess we'll find out soon enough...and I REALLY wish I'd gotten lucky and recieved Smuggler's Run also

I got the "Decimator". Cool picture and I really like it, but it would have been nice to have gotten the "Smugglers Run".

There's been much hoopla around the painting entitled Smuggler's Run. But, other than the title, what's so hot about that painting?
I've seen it and I'm somewhat pleased that I didn't get that one 
. Honestly, it's one ugly ship. And before someone reminds me that the Millenium Falcon was a "hunk of junk" remember that the YT-1300 is a good looking ship, sleek, graceful, and smooth looking. Hard to beat the saucer hull for those qualities.

As a painting I want something cool to look at not just a cool title.
One question. If thatpaintingSmuggler's Run was named something else, would you want it?

Isn't the "Smuggler's Run" ship VERY close to Dash Rendar's ship? Maybe even the same one?
I like it .... it's got bits of the Falcon in it ..... the round crater thingies on the right side round part. The fact that the cockpit is off to the side and not in the middle (asymmetrical for those who know what that means). I can see that being a SWEET, modifyable (is that a word), fast and heavy hitting ship.
I like it alot.

Yes, it does look similar, but notthe same unless Rendar's Outrider is a modifed version of this one, or vice versa. Rendar's ship,a YT-2400, is more smooth edged than the one in the painting andnearly as odd looking.

Oh, I wasn't addressing it's possible performance characteristics, just that it's ugly to me. The human liver is a great machine but I wouldn't want a painting of one hanging on my wall, know what I mean?

Ehh, I hear ya'. One person's trash is another's treasure and all that. I'm content with my Cast Wing in Flight. I've just read that a few people are miffed that they didn't get the Smuggler's Run painting or joyous that they did. I think that it's really because of the "branding", the name of the painting, not thepicture itself.

I had gotten Emporer's Eye myself, but a couple hours of begging in cnet produced a Smuggler's Run which is now prominately displayed in my living room. I went and made myself broke trying to get a full set of the JTL paintings, still short the Cast Wing. Need to sell some fp so I can complete the set.

I'm with ya ..... I've always been a fan of asymmetrical ships, though. So this is right up my alley. I guess thats why the Falcon was such a fav of mine.
I like your liver analogy..... very good !!!
I never liked the X-Wing too much ... but I do like the A-Wing ALOT .... even though it's symmetrical but I think that's from the X-Wing and Tie Fighter games (quite a long time ago). I think the A-Wing was more deadly than an X-Wing. It was fast enough to hunt down Ties, and avoid them .... had concussion missles to deal out bigger damage and still had shields and hyperdrive. The X-Wing, although had twice the lasers and also had proton torps, it got owned by Ties cuz it couldn't maneuver as well.
Sorry for that digression.
I hope to get a "Smuggler's Run" ship when JtL comes out. I got the money saved up!!!
