we should be able to land at locations like jabbas palace, or other crime lord controlled areas.

I think smugglers should be able to decalre a crime faction too... Like say I work for Jabba, or Borvo, Valaran etc.

I hope this revamp doesnt flop, I hope it actually benifits the game for once.

I like the landing beacon idea from the rangers..... I think I need to go to that board and show some support

That Landing beacon thing is an AWESOME Idea... think it would be worth suggesting that they could donate those to a Faction HQ as well? give the rebels a place to land thier military ships?
